How Well could I run crysis?

I can run it on the lowest settings at about 20-25 fps on these specs:

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1251333

--------------------------------------------------------------------

On What settings can I run Crysis if I added this:

AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition Deneb 3.0GHz quad core processor

then how would I run the game? I just bought that video card. I know its not the best, but I am short on cash.

Maybe you could try running it on medium, but don't even think about going higher, that video card isn't good at all. So try medium and see how that runs, if it runs good, try to set SOME settings at high.

If you have any more questions just ask. Personally I would recommend to switch over to ATI if you're short on cash, because price-quality is more balanced than Nvidia. I own 2 HD5870's which are about 150$ each. It's one of the fastest cards on the market right now so I'd check that one out.

MeetMyMeatBE[/quote]Thanks The problem is, I have an integrated GPU so I bought the Geforce 9400 gt PCIe. I also have an AM2 Mother board. Anything good for as cheap as possible?

But I tried a few forums and only got a simple and sore answer. I also understand what the people are talking about rather than the other 95% of those threads with people who cannot spell for their life and/or don't understand the difference between motherboards and processors

I concur. Sometimes the best way to get answers is to put your eggs in alot of different baskets. I personally wouldn't mind answering those kinds of questions, and it is under the proper section of the forum. No problems here.

Look into getting a new video card. Definitely a processor and or motherboard. (always check compatibility between the two before buying)

Oh hell, 9400 is a LOW END GFX CARD! It's never going to run HIGH settings in 800x600. Might run highs in about 15 FPS, when overclocked, and a good processor. HD4850 is an OK card, would be good for approximately... High settings.

That is a good processor but you need a good graphics card.
the better the graphics card the higher you can put the settings, I would recommend an ati radeon 4870 or 5870 or nivdia gt 270 or higher. Hope that helps.

@CorruptSoul: When you don't want an expensive card, go for the HD4870/HD4890, these things are really good, and the price tag is good too. My cousin had an HD4870 and gets 35FPS everything on Very high 1280x1024, in intense action scenes (stuff exploding etc.) Just a tip but you might wanna check it out.

Talking from experience, with a HD 5770 (around 190$) and an amd athlon x2 5000+ 2.6 Ghz I can run mainstream with no lag and gamer with almost no lag. And thats with my crap processor, if I were to put your new processor in I could run Max with my single HD 5770. So, instead of getting two 4870's, you could try and get the single 5770 for maybe 5-7 fps lower. Be careful though, the 5770's are always out of stock and make sure your case has enough room to hold the monster and has enough energy for a 125 watt (at maximum) GFX card. The references to the 5870 are way to expensive for you, 430$ for the XFX and 500$ for the diamond. Try and get the XFX 5770, its an amazing card, and it also supports DX11 and eyefinity (if you ever go that far). I DO however play at 1366x768 but that shouldn't make that big of a difference in quality. (I use two monitors so it actually should be pretty balanced with higher resolutions.) Good Luck.

Graphics card is alot more important than the processor.
My advice: Get the best graphics card that you feel u can afford, then buy and intel core i5, that CPU is a perfect piece of machinery, it handles everything with no problems at all, and it can be clocked extremely well for its low price. Remember you will need socket 1156 for the i5, and MAKE SURE UR MOTHERBOARD HAS PCI-E 2!!!
then just get 4gigs of DDR3 ram, its not expensive at all (around 100euros for 4gigs of 1600mhz ram. The motherboard can be purchased for bout 100 euros. 600euros + graphics card = 2-3 years of maxing all the games out depending on what graphics card you get. But I would wait, ATI will be bringing out another generation of cards late this year, and then yet another generation early next year.

I have the same here. HD 5770 but I have the i7 920 with 6gig RAM. I haven't even overclocked the i7 yet and I haven't found a game yet that I can't run on the highest settings. I get slightly lower FPS on crysis with max settings but it doesn't have noticeable lag or anything.

The HD 5770 has worked great for me.

looks pretty beast, sorry about being all harsh, it was just one of those days. my friend has the phenom and he says it is the best processor he has ever had. I don't know anything about the ATI GPU, im a nvida guy. but it seems like it is the best one they offer.. if you crossfired up a few of those babies, you can run anything in the conceivable future

forget it, that graphics card is your primary problem.
also, does a Phenom II even fit on an AM2 mainboard or do you need an AM2+ ? im not sure.

you mean 5770s right? cause 5870s are about 300 bucks still and also not "one of the..." but THE fastest card on the market, considering the overpriced, noisy joke nvidia calls a gtx 480. it barely beats a 5870 in some games, and is half a year younger.
(before anyone assumes fanboyism on my part: i sincerely hope nvidia gets back into the action, otherwise ati will just get as arrogant and lazy as them in recent years ;-)

The AM2 and the AM2+ are physically the same, the AM2+ supports HT 3.0 though.
