If it does run well enough that you are happy, go ahead and keep it. Then when you upgrade again later you can come back and have an even better experience. If not, like you said, you can return it. Let us know either way!

Mark, Greg, happy to inform the game runs smoothly; as I booted it up, the autoconfig thingy put me in ultra settings.

I have never played a game like this, both aesthetically and with such level of detail.

Thanks for all the help.

Should be fine to run the game probably at medium settings at least. I'd say high, but I think that CPU would be holding back the Radeon 7950.

6GB RAM is fine for the game...plenty even playing with just 4GB.

GPU is a bit old, but at the lower resolution may be ok. I don't recall seeing any one with one having posted about if it does the job or not though.

Your GPU doesn't meet the min. req.

That's a very old GPU btw. (let's say year 2008 ?!?)

------

If you feel adventurous, you may wanna try it at low resolutions, but there is no guarantee that the game will ever start. !!!

In your position i would wait, and buy the game after you upgraded your graphics card.

What's your 7900 series GPU?

7950 - 7970 - 7990?

If you don't know, dxdiag will tell your Device ID.!

For example: Device ID 1002-6798

The first four digits is the vendor, and the second four are the model.

Juggling between high and ultra depending on if its a 7950 or a 7970 card.

Depending on card, its gonna be low settings (6790 or 6770) and possibly even below low settings (6750) at 1080p. May want to look into turning down resolution a bit for your 1GB card and check out some of the tweak guides that are out.

Its a 7950. Will high look better than XBOX/PS4 and will I get a steady frame rate?

if you try to play at ultra you will get near 30fps. (at 1080p)

So either way it should be medium, or at a lower resolution.

I'm trying to understand what you mean. 30fps at 1080p is good no?

But then you mention medium and lower resolution.

So its an aged card these day. Looking at low 1080p unless resolution is decreased.

That should be well sustainable for high settings at 1080p. Everyone getting mixed fps results due to other issues. Just try it and see what you get. Its gonna look and perform better than consoles.

From all the benchmarks that i saw until now, older and new ones, the 1080p 30fps should be the max you should get on that system. (ultra settings)

Of course it's nice.

But 30fps tops means drops at the 20fps barrier also (in some instances). So therefore i suggested for a smoother game-play, either lower the resolution or the graphical settings.

------

> Its a 7950. Will high look better than XBOX/PS4 and will I get a steady frame rate? <

It should look better than a console, yes.

If you get a steady frame-rate depends firstly from your hardware and secondly from the application.

If neither of those are optimized frame-rates will suffer. !!!
