On a laptop there is nothing to change, especially related to the GPU.

If i understood your question right.

Even if it's an old GPU (GTX 280), it's faster on Fallout 4 comparing with the newer GTX 550Ti.

As for the Drivers: The 341.92 are indeed until the 400 series GPUs. (So they include the 200 series GPUs as well, like yours)

----------

The 358.91 are not compatible with the 200 series GPUs according to Nvidia. So better use the 341.92 drivers.

Those are the latest and dated 10. Nov. 2015

Obviously it's the games fault, as many others have exact the same problems even on newer hardware.

I guess PC users should wait for a patch, or at least for Bethesdas response.

So if my graphics cards is on the Fuggedaboutit list, means I can't even start the game? Can't play on low settings at all?

at least it made the list...

If you're in that section, more than likely you won't run the game or just crash frequently.

The list is supposed to cover the majority of all video cards ever made...not sure what you mean by "at least it made it". The intent is for people to find their card so they have an idea of what it can achieve.

It's not really a "can I run it post" rather a experience report.

My specs:

- Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.5GHz

- MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB

- Asus Maximus Ranger VII Mainboard

- 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR 3 1866MHz

- Samsung 850 Evo 1TB

Notable settings:

- Selected "High"

- 2560x1080 21:9 resolution

- Volumetric Lighting disabled

- Godrays disabled

- SSAO/HBAO disabled

- Maximum Tesselation at 2x

- Turned off ingame Vsync in game and in CCC

- Using ENB Vsync with FPS limit set to 75 (limit of my FreeSync monitor, rarely causes issues)

Still getting severe FPS drops around settlements and buildings.

Around the Corvega plant for example I drop to about 20-30 FPS and it gets even worse when it rains.

What refresh rate has your screen?

Are you sure your RIG hits (at least) the 75fps barrier? Otherwise it doesn't make sense, if you force your game to 75 and your game never goes over 55.

Have you tried with Vsync without fps limiter or with an lower fps limit to 55?

Do you use Freesync or Adaptive Sync?

I'd rather it crash frequently then not load at all.

And sorry not all of us keep a running tab on video cards.

How do you guys think my laptop will fare at 900p?

Intel i7 4700MQ

Nvidia GT 755M SLI

16GB RAM @1600MHz

I'm thinking Medium/High with SLI enabled to maintain over 30fps?

Because SLI relies on proper driver support for scaling, performance may vary...

Overall, the GT 755M SLI should have similar performance to a single GeForce GTX 770M.

------------

However, because the game has some difficulties to run through an SLI'd GPU system, take a look at that video and do exactly what that guy describes at that video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmkZ_JkJibU

It should work at 900p and 30fps.

Good Luck. !!!

I'm pretty good with computers, but when it comes to computer specs I have no idea what I'm doing.

My ASUS Laptop Specs:

Video Card: GeForce GTX 960M

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-4720HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz

Ram: 16 GB

OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)

Free Disk Space: 423.2 GB

I did run this through Can you RUN It, and It doesn't even meet min. requirements for Fallout 4, but reading it myself I feel like it should be more than enough to run the game, but like I said I'm not very good when it comes to comparing computer specs. Could you people double check for me?

I have an AMD Quad Core Processor A8-6410 up to 2.4 ghz

AMD Radeon R5 Graphics

*BG DDR3 L Memory

I have no idea why it keeps on crashing unless I'm waaaay below the minimum specs.

Laptop should be good for medium settings at 1080p, better if resolution is lower. The 960m is like a 750ti desktop card.

R5 Radeon is rather low end and well below low settings. Sorry to say, but you are waaaaay below min reqs.

Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series
Kind regards

Even if you have the HD4890 2GB GPU, your system doesn't meet the min. req.

Sorry, man...

While you may be able to run the game, it may be rather sluggish and at low settings due to old cars and e840p dualcore chip. And yes, you are under min reqs

So I am having massive problems with this game. I have been told that its most likely my GPU, I know it isn't ideal, but I suspect there's more to it than that (considering the game auto detected my settings to high and it ran smoothly for 2hrs). Never the less, I probably should upgrade my GPU soon .. but I am a bit hardware illiterate. Currently I have a GeForce GTX560 which is 1gb.

What I'm wondering is, from this link - http://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Graphics%20Cards/NVIDIA- is anyone able to recommend a GPU from that list around the $300 mark which would have zero issues with this game (although I know other issues may still be there ... such as now being able to even launch the game without error). They all tend to look/read a bit the same to me ... obviously I can tell the really good from the good and the so/so ... but I'm also conscious of going overkill (student budget and all that jazz).

Cheers :)

With some tests on my Intel HD Graphics 3000 and Geforce GTX 260+, I figured out that maybe a graphic card which cannot support Directx11 didn't meet the need for Fallout4. Thus though GTX 295 is much faster than 550Ti as I knew, it cannot even get into the game.

In my opinion, a graphic card that in the list but don't support Directx11 won't meet the basic need for Fallout4.

Using DirectX SDK and check the "Force WARP" just make the game software accelerated, and also cause super low fps. Although some cards like HD Graphics 4000 can just get into game with a feature level limited to DirectX 11(but not 11.1) without "Force WARP" checked.

Seems like some AMD Graphics cards need to be played in windowed & borderless mode.

Sorry for my poor English.

With that budget, a GTX 960 would be your choice. (either 2G or 4GB)

It doesn't matter which of those two. In higher resolutions (1080p) on some games the 4GB model will have a higher average fps, but not higher overall fps.

But it's game depended.

On a higher resolution (1440p) paired with an weak processor, the GPU will not be able to keep up with the game, so the framerates will drop either if you have the 2GB or 4GB model.

So if I'm understanding that right, if my CPU isn't fantastic, then it doesn't particularly matter if its 4gb or 2gb they'll roughly produce about the same for a game? But if my CPU is stronger then I'd notice more of a difference going for 4gb?

FYI, CPU is i7-3770 @ 3.4GHz
