?I just started the story for Automatron and it's going great. I was wondering though, can the story progress if I bring someone else with me, or does she need to be my companion?

I ditched that [censored] and got my own assaultron instead. She begs you to take her with you for the final battle but I told her to [censored] off. So don't worry about it, she's totally irrelevant. Nothing beats having your own personal robot made by yourself and completly willing to serve you in everything you request.

Ada is really good. I pick up every piece of junk i see and she always responds nicely and encourages me to not leave any junk behind. Perfect companion.

I agree. And she is not dumb either. Ada is so far my fav companion, then Strong, then a synth.

You don't need to take Ada but you will have to take a robot companion with you for the last mission. .. I figured, might as well just take Ada. You can turn her into whatever type of robot you want so building another for no real reason, just to end up having to take that one along doesn't really make much sense. ... I did however build a bunch of robots. They assigned themselves fun tasks like picking food and patrolling. I didn't have to do any of that.
