If people liked Obsidian so much better, NV might have actually hit prospected sales goals :) :) :)

Yea it added some of the craftable stuff but no ammo, no special ammo, not making skill/perks as useful as before. I could use other stuff beside speech to get unique dialog. Making settlements not care of what side you choose.

Fallout 4 is a good game. Better than 3 but I it doesn't come close to NVs. Fallout 4 seem to focus too much attention on the combat while ignoring what the fans truly love about this franchise.

So what were the sales goals for New Vegas? If you mean Metacritic scores, well they don't matter. I'm pretty sure it was a conspiracy too lol

But it did matter. It mattered to the Obsidian team that lost a bonus. Think what you want, it fell short. (but yes I mistook sales for metacritic score, I had forgot how that had gone)

That's opinion just like most of this is. I like most of 4 over NV. Sure there are some things I liked better in NV but as a whole there's no way I'd take that large empty boring space with a terribly uninspired main quest over 4.

No, not dumbed down - whatever that's supposed to mean. I'm sure that varies from person to person.

I'm not being dramatic, I'm just echoing what many others have already said. And it is far off from NV, they don't even compare. Look, white knight all you want to but there's a reason that one of Fallout 4's biggest criticisms has been it's RPG elements.

Well think what you want, I don't see it being THAT much different that I'd complain about it every chance I got. Still feels like much of the same game to me. While taking away some features you might find to be more RPG it added some that I feel add more to the "role playing"

Let's look at Fallout 4's user rating, it's like a 6 or 7? The critic score is only a couple points higher than New Vegas.

What is a opinion?

That Fallout 4 is better than 3? Yea it is a opinion.

Wouldn't that have more hype not how good the game is? For example GTA 4 is the second best selling GTA game( probably one of the best selling games ever) but it's considered the worse GTA series( Even though I disagree). That Bungie Halo game that isn't Halo sold a lot and people hate it. Sells don't mean one game is better because it sold more or less it just got better marketing in most cases.

My comment was in response to him saying "people like Obsidian better" but pointed out that it doesn't seem to be the case, right?

Sales =/= A good game

Just look at the metacritic user review. Those are the ones that truly matter.

Fallout 4 user review

PC: 5.4

PS4: 6.4

Xbox One: 6.1

Fallout New Vegas user review

PC: 8.5

PS3: 7.8

360: 8.1

Those are huge differences.

Why does this argument happen over and over? Has any poster ever been won over by the opposing side in these things? Bethesda fans are going to walk away still Bethesda fans, and the puppy kicking haters of Bethesda are going to slink away from this thread still hating Bethesda. Nobodies minds are going to be changed on the issue. Nothing will be settled. A mod will probably close the thread and next week we will see it all again in another thread.

You're free to think what you want to but NV had an objectively more complex dialogue system than Fallout 4 does for one thing. Most of the quests also had more than one option outside of "kill all the things" unlike Fallout 4 as well.

Despite what you think, when you look at the actual evidence Fallout New Vegas is a more complex RPG than Fallout 4 is by far. That being said, New Vegas was far from perfect.

Alright, first thing's first. Not everyone who has issues with Fallout 4 hates Bethesda, you need to get out of that mindset because it's not true.

Second, it happens and will always happen because the Fallout fanbase is very divided (especially on Fallout 4).

But then comparing a game that is not finished with DLC and patching is fair? Ok haha my comment was that NV didn't meet the metacritic goal that was set in order to get a bonus. Had nothing to do with comparing a unpatched game to one that's been completed for almost 6 years.

It's funny because I love NV. It's probably my favorite game from last gen. I just really don't personally see all these things others see that they think trump 4. But, agree to disagree. It's silly at this point

Wait what? Every game that gets release is finish. If you're impying that Fallout 4 isn't finish because of DLC than that truly tells us the value of Fallout 4.

Those are the base game scores not the GOTY/complete edition.

Oh yeah, those old guard Black Isle fans really must have a lot of time on their between concocting plans of world domination and castrating themselves to their unopened jewel box cases of the original Fallouts lol.

They aren't finished patching Fallout 4... just like NV was buggy as hell before it had finished being patched

Voted no because you should be comparing to Fallout 3, not NV.

And I just looked, Fallout 4 has 84, 87, 88 ratings on metacritic.... where did you pull those other numbers?

edit: oh you're going from user review, yeah like I said, those are post patched scores for NV at this point. Hell I can vote up or down NV right now it can change. So yeah I'd expect after 6 years user ratings are a lot better at this point than they were at launch

NV is still bad on PS3 and Skyrim was very buggy at release but got high scores.
