Found here.

Uninstalled Steam from program files (x86) and game than reinstalled them to just C:/Steam

Only using that to test and it still generates the same error?
What am I doing wrong or does this fix not even work to begin with?

It works fine for me.

A tip: "still generates the same error" isn't helpful when you've never actually mentioned the error ;)

Running it outside of the Skyrim folder and inside produce the same results. Hope someone can help.

Works completely fine for the majority of the users. Can you tell us what OS you use, etc?

After a quick google, this problem has nothing to do with the 4GB loader, but Steam. It effects any Steam Game. People suggest running Steam as adminstrator or trying to replace the local cache. Either way, it is not the 4GB program causing it.

hmm I thought the same thing since my buddies works just fine. My UVAC is off and I assume I am running steam as an admin.
Though you mean have steam launch as admin by right clicking it and doing so.
How would I go about replacing the local cache?

Thanks for the help btw

Maybe the "verify local game cache" option, unless Rarity means something different.

Open up your Steam Library, Right click on Skyrim, Choose properies. Click on local Cache Tab and they Verify Integrity of Cache.

I've not used the LAA yet - nor have needed suprisingly.

But what I have done due to Steam not being nice with UAC is to https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7418-YUBN-8129 outside the UAC areas of control.

Better than running as admin in my opinion - and get to keep UAC active.

Still does nothing. If someone had the copy of the 4GB patch that whats his face ported over here before Wench did I would like to try that. Someone had the Megaupload link somewhere

Going to add my voice in here as well.

* Running x64 Win 7
* steam is in C:\Program Files (x86)\
* both skyrim4gb.exe and skyrim4gb_helper.dll are in the skyrim directory
* I am using the unedited latest exe from the update
* I have tried running the skyrim4gb.exe in admin mode

Still getting "Application load error 3:00000065432".

@Nightmare_Pwn: heres the link to ChairGraveyard's quick port version http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MBBKAPTJ

I think until this issue is figured out I will just use the backup I had of the unpatched exe, easy enough to just laa edit that one.

Have you tried googling that error? What exactly does it mean?

The old port works fine for launching the game yet I can't really see a difference. Perhaps its fixed stuttering but FPS has stayed the same. Ohwell. I will wait until this issue is resolved. Seems to work fine for now.

Googling that error code gives all sorts of strange suggestions. This one looks promising:

http://hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1033554661&postcount=52

It's from someone trying to install FO3 Steam version and getting that same error code back in 2009 under Vista. Sounds like the Steam.exe file needs to be set as "run as administrator" after rebooting. Dunno if it works since I'm not having this issue but it's worth a try.

Apparently the error message is related to steam being unable to verify something from what I could gather googling the error message. Not exactly sure what could be causing it, but there are certainly quite a few people having this issue if you look in the comments section here: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1013

I'm just using the old exe, so long as steam doesn't decide to re update (I've set Skyrim to not update automatically, but it resets sometimes) I should be fine.

Dagon, this thread is talking about http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1013 mod to fix the issue of not being able to edit in the large address aware flag on the patched exe. Currently quite a few users are experiencing the error message posted above with it.

Yeah no. Still not working.

Win7 64.

Steam installed: e:\program files (x86)\steam\
(This is the default Steam install location, with drive E subbed in for drive C)

Steam.exe set to run as Administrator.

Removed TESV.exe from skyrim install directory in steam. Had Steam verify game cache, and it downloaded the current TESV.exe.

Set TESV.exe to run as administrator.

Copied over skyrim4gb.exe and skyrim4GB_helper.dll and put them in the same folder together. In this case, I even put them both in the skyrim install directory. Set skyrim4GB.exe to run as administrator.

When I click skyrim4gb.exe, it creates tesv.exe.4gb and tesv.4gb files, but then returns the error: "Application load error 3:00000065432"

So.

By contrast, when I use the quick and dirty mockup that ChairGraveyard did yesterday afternoon, the game runs immediately, and runs with Large Address Aware working, and working beautifully.

I have no idea what CG did that MonochromeWench did not do, but it definitely is something within the 4GB file that CG knew to do that MW's patch does currently fails to do.

If you are trying to get this to work, try this:

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1284360-concerning-the-small-patch-through-steam-today/page__view__findpost__p__19388645

1. Extract the zip file from that link in that post.

2. Copy the two files from inside the "compiled" folder to your steam install directory for skyrim.

3. Start the game from now on by clicking "fnv4gb.exe" (Yes, the file is misnamed after Fallout New Vegas, as it was based on that 4gb patch...but it works just fine for Skyrim)

4. Enjoy Skyrim. Game should run in LAA mode even with the currently-patched version of Skyrim inside Steam.

Funny thing tho, if you rename the .exe and .dll files provided in ChairGraveyard fix, they throw the same error and the files provided by MonochromeWench. If you don't then they work as advertised.

Getting system cannot find the file specified with the Wench launcher, have Steam done another sly update to block this?

My old port will definitely throw an error if fnv4gb_helper.dll is renamed, as the code specifically loads it using that name. Renaming the .exe shouldn't affect anything.

For those of you that are still getting the error, have you tried setting both Steam *and* fnv4gb.exe to run as admin? With those settings, MonochromeWench's version works for me. Without setting both as admin, her version was launching the TESV.4gb, but it would immediately crash.

The "Application load error 3:00000065432" error is something that Wench said she'd look into. I've heard of people taking her [provided] source and compiling it themselves, which fixes it. But I'd expect there to be a general update to fix that.
