I killed the pseudo-ghost and got the claw from the innkeeper, but I can't find the right combination for the (supposedly) last chamber of the dungeon.

Where are we supposed to have any hints about this kind of puzzle, anyway?

I do not have the game just yet but i do believe that you can "examine" the items found in the game, often they have some sort 'o clue inscribed on them!

Is this the gold claw?

If so, the combination is Bear, Bird, Owl

This was a hard one for me too. I didn't even come close to the idea to examine a item in a TES Game. This little adventure-style riddles are something new for the series and its amazing(atleast i cant remember such types of riddles in morrowind or oblivion dungeons)!

Which puzzle? Did you get past the door the claw fits into?

If not, that's a simple case of looking at the sapphire claw and moving the combination of owl, moth and wolf to the right place.

The Gold Claw is for Bleak Falls Barrow, not Shroud Heart Barrow


The claw should show the right combination on its underside when you examine it in your inventory. At least, that is what all the other claws I've found do.

Im having hard time getting the claw... Did you do it like i did?

1. Talk to the innkeeper
2. Go to the barrow
3. Kill the "ghost"
4 Go to innkeeper and he gives you the claw?

... step 4 is bugged for me, since the innkeeper does not give me a claw..

Ah, that's why...I just couldn't find the right solution on my own, of course! I'll be examining the item then.

I had the same problem. For me this was not bugged, i was just too stupid The problem for me was: the innkeeper needs proof!

And you have too give the innkeeper the journal of the "gohst"

Its different from person to preson.. i didn't have that combination

Stupid me...I found the journal and am trying to get back to the town. However, I can't get the levers done to open the exit gate. I'm stuck and I'm going to die. Help!! LOL

It's similar to the golden claw, but this is a sapphire claw. Examine it and you'll see the sequence. This one has a wolf instead of a bear.

You get this claw for the inkeeper after you show him the crazy dudes journal. It's in his little room with the alchemy table on his desk.
