Hello everyone. I have downloaded some mods from Skyrim Nexsus and I want to use them. It said it should be placed in the Textures folder in Data. But there is no Textures foldre in Data except a bsa file. I read somewhere that said we shopuld create a foldrer with that name and place that BSA file in it with downloaded mods so they work. but no luck. could someone help me?

There's no texture folder in your data files because you haven't added any new textures yet and there isn't one in there by default. Just plop the texture folder that comes with your download into the data files folder and you'll be set.

BSA files should go in the data folder itself, not inside the data/texture folder. For other graphics mods that don't use a BSA but have a 'Textures' folder, you drop that entire textures folder inside the data folder.

.. and just to expand on the subject a little

The game comes with all its resource files (Meshes, Textures, Sounds etc), in their own BSA

BSA stands for Bethesda Softworks Archive - Its an archive similar to others like zips.

Skyrim - Textures.bsa as you might guess contains all the textures (if you were to extract it, inside you would find a Textures folder, and within that all the games default vanilla textures separated into types)

The game engine when it looks in Data\ first looks at the vanilla files contained in its bsas'

If there are loose files in a textures folder (instead of a bsa), and they are the same folder structure and name as vanilla textures ... The game will use those instead of the ones being replaced in the bsa - We call these files replacers.

Some loose resource files are custom, ie they do not replace game original resource files, and need an esp (Elder Scrolls Plugin) to tell the game engine how and where to use them. These can also come in a custom BSA, or as loose files.

Skyrim valid folders in Skyrim\Data\
------------------------------------
grass\
interface\
lodsettings\
meshes\
music\
scripts\
shadersfx\
sound\
strings\
textures\
video\

Skyrim valid files in Skyrim\Data\
----------------------------------
*.esm (Elder Scrolls Master)
*.esp (Elder Scrolls Plugin)
*.bsa (Bethesda Softworks Archive)
*.bsl (Bethesda Softworks List ?)

+ Anything you could expect to find in the above folders (*.dds *.nif *.xwm etc etc)

Erm .. You dont need to extract any BSAs', unless you are just curious about what is contained. The game loads its BSAs fine without having to turn them into loose files.

But if you are just curious, or want to make your own replacers and thinking about making your own mods ...

I mentioned they are similar to zips, but that was just to give an idea of what they are - However WinRAR and 7zip (or even WinZip) will not extract them, you need a special utility to do that http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=247

Using BSAOpt you select your source BSA

And then select a destination folder (preferably a temporary one outside of your game installation)

Then it will extract the BSA to that folder.

If you ever get to the stage where you want to use BSAOpt to make a BSA from a folder of loose files, be sure to also check Skyrim in the Game menu (BSAOpt defaults to Oblivion format BSAs, when automatic is selected .. and so will create BSAs which will crash Skyrim when it tries to load them).

All of the above though should not be needed for your original problem - You said the mods you downloaded needed to be put in the textures folder - I presume the mod in question is assuming you already have other mods installed which have previously made a textures folder in data\

All you should need to do from the mod you have downloaded is extract its files, and place the extracted textures folder into your data folder.
Or if the mod has a bsa the bsa just goes into your data\ folder - No need to do anything else with it.

Maybe I have confused things by expanding on the subject to broaden your knowledge about modding skyrim, but the mod authors instructions (you should read them for each mod that you install carefully) should be enough to install it correctly.

We cannot currently help any further with the information you give in your first post "some mods" and "it" .. No idea what mods we are dealing with.

If they're not nvde/child killing mods, then it might be simplest to tell us what they are, and we can have a look for you. If they are, you're not allowed to mention them, so perhaps copy and paste the instructions? (preferably in a spoiler tag)

Nexus Mod Manager should be able to install (most of) these mods for you, but I think you should eventually learn how to use Wrye Bash if you enjoy having a modded game.
Testing your game after installing each new mod you add one at a time is a good habit to get into early.
You may have an issue with running many quest and complex home mods together, pick one really nice home mod and one simple home mod to start with, then add a third home mod after making sure your game will start and run with the other mods active.

I downloaded that mod manager and activated one of the mods with it with one companion mod. In the structure or that castle mod it says it fast travel spot is already on the map but there is nothing there.

Have you activated the mod yet, by placing a check beside it in NMM or the DATA FILES section of the Skyrim Launcher?

You should probably use BOSS http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=6
When you run it, it will sort your mods into an optimal order, and then when you run the game, it'll reduce the chances of crashing. More details at the link.
