I'm asking this for my sister. She completed the DB quest and got the horse. Yes, we both know that it is the super awesome demon horse of the apocalypse, but my sister doesn't use horses and is getting quite tired of it following her everywhere. Coupled with the fact that it cannot be killed, she is really annoyed. Is there a way to get rid of this?

Riding it of a cliff should still kill it.

i never mounted shadowmere, so hes still standing in the cesspit he rose out of.

It can be killed. I killer it by riding of a mountain it died instantly and I was unharmed

UESP says he can die, and will respawn 15-20 days later where he died.

And let me guess... First time fast traveling after that and he shows up at your destination with you, correct? Can he be put back in the pool?

it doesnt say, but i think he just stays near where he died, until you mount him again. I would try killing him and see what happens. Worst case - he comes back, best case - no more shadowmere.

I guess my sister will be taking a galloping leap off of a cliff soon...

Dont forget to use the 'become ethereal'shout, unless she wants her character to die too. Or she could just whack him with her sword till he dies - great way to level up the offensive skills.

Kill him. He will not follow you after respawn.

Or park him somewhere and buy another horse. Then kill the another horse.

Your horse can't take a three step fall. You can And Shadowmere is unkillable by weapons. Heights are his only weakness.

On PC, use console command : type "`" in game, then "disable" ??

I have no idea what happened, but he just stopped showing up when I fast traveled. I don't know if he died or if the game glitched, but he's gone for me - which is annoying, since I DO ride horses...

Not true. I've killed it with a bow plenty of times. On purpose, of course.

You've killed Shadowmere, an essential character, with a bow?

Not according to Wiki and UESP. Hes totally killable by weapon, you just have to be patient.

If you run off a small cliff, (enough to kill a horse, but not you), Shadowmere will die. He can also die from any other cause of damage, weapons, magic, etc. - Wiki

And nowhere does it state that Shadowmere is essential. He's just really really tough.

I easily killed Shadowmere while training Two Handed. Reloaded and decided to train Two Handed without my dual-enchanted sledgehammer of doom.

Ride a regular horse then kill the regular horse,shadowmere will stay where you left him and won't follow you till you ride him again .
