Can anyone tell me reason why texture mods don't work for me? first i installed official hd textures mod,and checked them in data files, but it didn't change anything in game even if i activated it so i decided to download Skyrim HD 2K textures from nexus, both 1.5 and 1.4 versions, but they just don't work for me. I uninstalled and reinstalled skyrim 3 times, and this texture mod is the only mod that i had installed. First i installed it with Nexus Mod Manager, and it added those texture in my skyrim folder which i'm sure because it's size increased for about 1 GB more, but when i opened the game i got those super low res crappy textures again and it didn't change anything. So i tried to install it manually by copying textures from mod in textures folder, but when i opened them game i got crappy low res original textures again. Those files from mod are loose files so i didn't get anything in "Data Files", and in newer skyrim versions there is no "load loose files" option and as i read it is supposed to load them automatically??? but it didn't load them for me

EDIT: Only mods that don't work for me are texture mods and any other mods that change how game looks do work, but as i said textures don't work even if they are only mod installed

That information is old and outdated. The DLC fix is still desired, but all the other stuff no longer applies regarding overwrites and whatnot. That was all changed with the 1.4 public release. All of the INI changes are no longer necessary.

Try checking your settings in the Vision Engine Control Center (or it's nvidia counterpart, whatever that is). For AMD users, there's the Mip-Map Detail setting, if that's set to low, your textures will look like crap no matter what mods you install.

Thanks for the info. Just tested and works fine indeed!

mip map is on max but textures are still lower than original
