So I've just stared a new SE play through and decided to be an Altmer (https://skyrimcalculator.com/build/453882/altmer-templar)… This is my first Rp play through as a High Elf and I was wondering do Altmer's have facial hair? I guess they can but would one grew such a wretched abomination on their beautiful face...

If it grow's then their could be many reason's for a character to grow one.. or just not cut one as it grows... including being "fashionable" and yes... men have grown facial hair just for fashion.

Yeah they can, we got multiple Altmer is ESO with beards. I would imagine a more Noble born Atlmer would keep it trimmed instead of bushy.

Yes, Altmer can grow facial hair.

But it does seems they generally prefer to be clean shaven.

Most of them would probably keep shaven, but the major question is: would your altmer grow a bear or not. Only you can know that. :P

I'm curious if High Elves in Daggerfall had selectable faces with beards during character creation.

Well I wouldn't know anything about being fashionable… I have a beard and had one since mid-2008… But I assure you it wasn't fashion related… More laziness related...

As apart of the roleplaying aspect he may do if the story goes where I'd hope it too… I hope he loses his faith and goes on a downward spiral… Hence why I was asking the question…

They don't, but that's not necessarily reflective of lore or anything. The kahjiit in daggerfall aren't the cat people we know, but the more human breed of kahjiit that essentially are just wood elves with tails and a bit more hair.

But in morrowind we have divayth fyr with a beard. And while he's a dark elf, he was actually still alive as a chimer, which is just a high elf with a different culture. And any story that talks about dark elves turning dark skinned, don't make any notice that they can suddenly grow beards or anything.

My newest character in skyrim is a heavy armoured battle mage high elf who I've given a beard. But that's because he's a dragonborn high elf, who's also actually half nord, and he actually looks half nord too. Thalen halfelf, or thalen halfman, as known in the summer set isles.

It's cool cus being a buff half elf who wears heavy armour, he's bigger and bulkier than anybody else. Makes the dragonborn a more imposing figure.
