Is Skyrim safe to play on the Ps4

Okay guys I originally played skyrim back in the day on Xbox 360 and for the most part bar one or two annoying bugs I made it through the game with little issue and put literally hundreds of hours in.

Fast forward to today and I finally picked up skyrim special edition for the ps4 and installed it on my ps4 pro, got the updates installed and everything as of today 16-2-17.

Now for the question, is it safe to start up a new game and crack on with the fun or am I likely to run into a game breaking bug after committing hours to the game? From what I remember the PlayStation platform had way more issues with skyrim in the previous generation so I'm afraid to get into it again and hit a game breaking bug.

So what do you all think is it more or less safe to jump in and not hit a game breaking bug? And no sarcastic bull guys it's an honest question all I want is an honest answer, thanks and hope you're enjoying the experience with the remaster.

I′d play with a helmet just to be sure. (:

You are going to run into bugs, I don′t think most of them are gamebreaking, just annoying things that won′t go away from your Quest Log and the eventual crash (much less of this latter, comparatively). I don′t believe much has been done in that area. I still have loads and loads of fun, bugs and all. In the last 3 months, I only had a "game breaking" bug when I was writing a DiD story and the end of the civil war bugged. If it was a normal game, I′d probably just go on playing until I got tired of the char and started another anyway, but since I was writing, it was kind of a bummer.

Xbox1 is the flaky one this time round, as they can run a wide range of mods, but don't have access to the tools to manage them. Load order issues, mod incompatibilities etc. are harder to track down there.

On PS4, you've basically got the base game, after it's been through all the patching, so it's settled down.

Yeah my fear would be questlines just going dead on me because I couldn't progress over a bug and I get invested in characters so it would kill me to get a fair chunk into a game and have to start from scratch.

Anyone know when the next patch (if any) is due out just in case it's soon enough I could wait and have a few patches and bug fixes in before I even started.

I didn't have any problems on PS4, and I spent enough time playing to earn all the trophies across two characters.

One exterior area had poor framerate issues, but I think they've cleared that up with a patch because I couldn't recreate the problem.

Well, the unofficial patch for SE exists for reason, the game is still buggy as hell. To make matters worse, PS4 is the only platform not getting it, thanks to mod restrictions.

Is it safe to play? Sure it is. It just requires to follow same rules as the old game. Save often, clean up combat mess, etc.

Between Oblivion and Skyrim I blame them for killing 2 of my ps3's back in the day. I remember they'd crash and I'd have to reset my console manually fairly often. On my first play through on ps4 I didn't have much of a problem. Now on my 2nd character at a lower level still around 45 but with much left untouched I've had a few crashes. Luckily the ps4 kicks you out to the console screen and doesn't just freeze but I'm worried I'm doing damage to my system. Had it happen a few times without playing for 10 hours straight so it's not that I didn't clear the RAM or something but may be part of it. I have been walking around with a 2nd follower and a permanent dead thrall, kind of an exploit/ glitch which may be causing some issues but it's happening more and more. I've been lazy with my alchemy and just dumping ingredients in a satchel too. I loot much less stuff and dropped a few things I mistakenly picked up which might be forever generating in the background.

All that besides the quest bugs and such and villagers being killed off. I haven't seen any dragons flying backwards though and it doesn't just crash as soon as they appear so it's better.

I would say it's mostly stable. I don't think chances of running into game breaking bugs is too common, but it can happen. I'm not sure if BGS plans on working on any patches that fix common quest glitches. So far the patches they've been putting out is mostly hardware or main menu interface related.

Careful with this. It's sound advice mostly when you have mutliple save slots going. If you constantly save over very few saves, there will be no old save to load from.

Resetting the console didn't kill 'em vast amounts of hours spent gaming did. The non-lead solder joints rot under the heat basically. Managed to kill the odd PS3 myself too long before I ever went near a TES game.

I play Skyrim on PC (heavily modded) and PS4 with no mods, and the PS4 version is fine.
