Ok, so my other thread about PC vs consoles was locked. Why? Why can't we discuss platform choices here?

Platform wars are not allowed. Stating that 1 platform is better then another is not allowed.

Because threads like that typically end up turning into flame wars.

Simply because they always end up with one side or the other bashing each other with hammers and then, the mod have no other choice but to get their own hammer as well.

But if you have questions regarding your threads or posts that have been closed, you have to do send a PM to one of the moderators, preferably the one who closed your thread/deleted/edited your post.

Sorry guys, but isn't the, er, point of a discussion board to, erm, DISCUSS things?

Seems like you guys have been brainwashed 1984 style! Debate should be encouraged not discouraged.

Discussions are generally encouraged here. But platform wars have come up far too often, and it just leads to members flaming other members because of platform choice.

This discussion has been had over and over for a while now. We don't need it again. It only causes problems.

So imagine a meeting room where people are discussing things. Then you have two people who jump off their seats and start beating up each other for having different opinions. Then you have other who join in for fisticuffs.

Do you call this discussion? Because this is what happens in PC vs Consoles thread.

Anyway, you should have simply asked the moderator why.

It's called free debate.

Out of curiosity, have you ever read 1984?

Because people don't discuss.

They state opinion as fact, flame anyone who doesn't agree with their opinion, and make work for the moderators who end up warning, suspending, and banning the flamers, flame-baiters, and trolls.

I'm serious. Read the forum rules. It will save grief in the long run.

Freedom of speech doesn't apply in a private forum.
