First of all, what is the Current Version? Mine is V1.2.0416 and the Direct to Drive Edition.

Secondly, what are some must haves? I already know I cannot use OBSE unless someone there got permission to crack the D2D encryption?

ps- I don't need links, mod names are fine, but thanks again if you go through the trouble to link me to mods.

A must have? I would say, if you like to customize your character, it would be Race Balancing Project. That way you get all the hair, all the races, tweaked birthsigns, and all that is left is to download whichever body replacer(s) you want. However, if you use RBP then I would suggest you also get Birthsigns Expanded to complete it.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13879 uncomplicated install and play. Many players use nGCD together with Progress and are very happy with its modularity, but for me RL is all I require.

With a good UI interface, a good economic mod and a good leveling mod I could even stand to play vanilla for a while.

I suppose I wasn't clear. I was talking about Mod Loaders/Organizers etc. Performance enhancers, that kind of thing. Mods for 'flavor' I generally find on my own. I never meant to be, or felt like I was being rude.

So: Is my verion of Oblivion/SI Up to date? I may have missed it when I read the stickies.
What is the preffered/reccomended Mod Loader/Organizer? I know there are Several.
Has OBSE neem modified to work with the D2D version of Oblivion, or is the encryption still/forever preventing that?

Yes I'm pretty sure that's the most recent official patch.

As mod ordering things and utilities theres:

BOSS
Wrye Bash
and
OBMM

Which serve these purposes respectively
Load order sorter
general purpose utility
and
installer

I recently made a generic reply that I can conveniently copy-paste to answer these kind of threads. Really, I think it is rather impolite to just come on ask "What do I need?" giving the impression that one has not spent even a single minute browsing the stickies or the last 2 or 3 forum pages for a similar thread. :violin:

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23324 adds over 800 new quality NPC's to the game. From a German author, but plays very well with English Oblivion as dialogues will continue in English. Try it!

Too bad you can't use OBSE, you're missing OSR(Oblivion Stutter Remover) which is simply incredible.
And no D2D won't ever support OBSE I fear. Steam got support only because a Valve developer actually assisted the obse team. Yay for Valve!

In fact I think there may be a way around it but I wouldn't dare suggest it on this forum(figure it out for yourself from that sentence).

And you can still PyFFI your meshes, search for the PyFFI thread. Also there are some law poly grass that may help.
