1) If I put .wav files inside the oblivion music folder, will Oblivion crash?

2) Do I need to use only .mp3?

3) What about .mp4?

I have 2 NOTES for mp3 :

1. if you use that mp3 for Dialog (Topic n conversation) or Sound (such as idle animation)

and that files have inappropiate format it may CTD

you MUST use the correct mp3 / wav FORMAT for Oblivion

that is 44k MONO - Constant Bit Rate

reference ---> http://cs.elderscrolls.com/index.php?title=Audacity:Voice_Acting_Workshop_I

convert that wav to mp3 with free tool called Audacity (google it)

2. if you use that mp3 for music it will be fine, BUT sometimes it may CTD

to learn more read here ---> http://www.tweakguides.com/Oblivion_9.html

as for mp4

you can learn some here ---> http://cs.elderscrolls.com/index.php?title=StreamMusic

hope it helps

Music:

Audacity:

How do I detect if mp3 are in correct 44k mono? All I can read is that my files have 192kb bitrate.

Is there a way to automatize the process and let audacity process every file in every folder?

for music you can ignore that rule ---> about format 44k mono CBR

Oblivion NOT validate format for music (read the reference in my first post)

btw,

I must inform you that I know so little about sound data file

but

maybe you can check the Hz sound rate by open that mp3 file in Audacity (it's free soft)
