Chatty Scamps

v1.2

Scamps are now chatty and will greet the player within range. Can be annoying. Inspired by Battlespire.

Some are cowardly, some will shoo you away, and the rest will still try and kill you.



Requires:

Morrowind

Tribunal

Bloodmoon

Installation:

Back up save games before using.

Unzip the plug-in file into the Data Files directory.

Activate the plug-in, and it will automatically set up and

work with new characters and existing characters.



Versions:


1.2 - having a weapon or spell out will have scamps attack instead of greet


1.1 - changed script to use GetLOS instead of GetDetected due to creature AI


1.0 - initial version

Version 1.1 update



Apparently GetDetected doesn't work unless there is an NPC in range for creatures? Changed the script to check for GetLOS and if the player is sneaking instead. Now works as intended!

Next update, I'll throw in a weapon drawn check into the script - having your weapon drawn will cancel out scamps bothering to greet and just attack like in the original game. Sort of like the Daggerfall mechanic of approaching a creature with a language skill - though most still attack anyways.

I like it! I have at several points in the past thought about making a mod just like this - glad you beat me to it!

Updated to version 1.2


*Scamps will only greet if weapon is sheathed, and no spells hands readied. Otherwise they will just attack or flee.





Thanks! I find it funny that scamps can now be annoying and cowardly like in Battlespire. It makes them a bit more interesting.
