Tenpenny Tower quest dilemna?

In my opinion there is no way to get through this quest with good karma. If I wait to try to convince Roy Phillips not to pursue his murderous invasion of the towers, I am forced to kill him and his cohorts, who only seem to be followers rather than evil. Perhaps I should just reload and preemptavily kill Roy when I first meet him at the intercom attempting to get into Tenpenny Towers. Perhaps I would receive less bad karma then going through the entire quest where I must also kill Roy's followers?

You could also do nothing and simply don't complete the quest. I know it is not the answer you're looking for.

Sadly this is one of those quests that are in the gray area of moral choices and impossible to complete in a way that suits everyone. If you're on pc and are skilled in modding maybe you can help a few people or even myself out and mod a peaceful coexisting solution?

No Karma Loss pattern involves a series of speech challanges to get certain residents to move out.
Seeing as Roy is the same as Tenpenny ethically, I tend to avoid this quest line altogether.

Even if you do that Roy ends up killing all the humans in the tower. Which is pretty [censored] up considering they let his stank ass in. But you can then turn around and kill him for no karma loss. But by this point it's useless as Tenpenny Tower has been reduced to a Motel 6. I really, REALLY, do not like this quest. If convincing the residents to let the ghouls move in still ultimately results in their deaths, you might as well just let the ghouls take over and save yourself the hassle. You loose two shop keepers for letting the ghouls move in anyway. It's stupid really. If you flat out kill Roy you lose Karma. Why? The [censored] is planning on massacring everybody in the damn tower. How is killing him bad?

I've tried to do this quest various ways, and all the results svck balls. At least if you want the ghoul mask and the humans to live. So you really only have two choices when it comes to completing the quest. Let the ghouls take over, or kill Roy. If you want to kill Roy without losing karma you can get him to attack you through dialogue, or you can drag a feral ghoul to him and kill him as he attacks you with the feral. Make sure he attacks you first.

Either way, this is the only quest in the game I hate. Especially after blowing up megaton, setting the ghouls up to move in the tower, killing Roy and company right after I get the reward but before they even sets foot in the tower, and all the humans still magically die (on a positive note, it's awesome to watch). Now I have an empty tower, utterly useless. Yet ghouls still spawn sometimes as a "Tenpenny resident" and when you talk to them they say things about how Roy saved them from the wastes or how great Roy's tower is. Roy is [censored]in dead, he did not save you nor does he have a tower. And that's about the time their heads explode.

But after going through all that, and being completely and utterly disappointed. I've decided to never do that P.O.S quest again. Not worth the time, the mask ain't worth the trouble since ghouls ain't hard to kill and I don't wanna look like Freddy that damn bad. [censored] it.

(i don relaly care for tenpenny's place i saved megaton for one reason Easily accessible shops and no doorbell to find em

Reavers die from head shots, and I'm always in stealth mode. But yeah, I will miss that damn mask. But I already blew up megaton on the save I'm using so letting the ghouls have the tower is not an option for me. Lesson learned. Never blow up megaton and always destroy all humans....that live in Tenpenny Tower. The so called "luxury penthouse suite" ain't even all that. It's one little ass room, which is BS. EVERY other suite in Tenpenny Tower has multiple rooms/areas, but the suite you get for blowing up megaton has one claustrophobia inducing room. I'm going to borrow your name for a bit and say that was an epic fail on my part for choosing the tower over megaton. Will never happen again.

I actually had the mask on this file, but I saved before I made my choice on the quest in case what I saw on wiki came true. Which I was expecting but was hoping wouldn't. Apparently Roy is no ordinary ghoul. He is voodoo doctor ghoul, as he can kill you from the grave. Scary. So when all the human residents still died I just loaded the old save and ignored the quest. I haven't redone it yet and what I may end up doing is just buying all the crap for my suite then convincing the people to let the ghouls in. And killing the ghouls anyway. I live there, and I'll be damned if i let the ghouls ransack it. So I'll act like they're welcome then shoot em in the back. What, Roy would do it. I have no remorse. I'll have an empty tower again but at least my suite will be furnished...all 4 square feet of it.

Might not be so bad. I could always go to Girdershade and kill Ronald. Then tell Sierra I have a hotel full of Nuka Cola/Quantum, and Girdershade is no longer safe but she can come stay with me and I'll share all the "Nuka" she can handle. What, I have my Pristine vending machine...along with other things.

There is a karma-neutral way to resolve it. Go underground, get some ferals after you, and lead them into Roy's hideout. He will side with the ferals and attack you, and the ghouls can be killed with no karma loss. You'll get your XP and collect your blood money. If you feel bad about it, go to Rivet City and give some or all of it to Father Clifford, which will boost your karma.

At worst, don't do the quest. It's only 300 XP. And as for the combat-related XP, you can still go in and kill the ferals.

Key to the "Speech Challange" path is there is no Karma hit, you get the mask, Roy kills everyone anyway, and 3 Dog thinks you are a jerk.
Similar to the no karma hit path in Tranquility Lane, if you ask me, as both end badly for innocents.

Even if I am a good character, I just kill roy. As long as I still have that little angel picture on my pip-boy, I dont care what I do.
