I was thinking about buying Fallout 3 on steam because I have been playing Fallout 4 ( my first experience with Fallout ) and I see this on the page in steam " Notice: Fallout 3 is not optimized for Windows 7 and later."

I have windows 7 home premium

Does this mean the game will not play properly for me ?

Should I not buy it?

Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas can be configured to run on Win 7 and up, easily enough.

Many of us have it installed and operational under Win 7, 8.x, or 10.

I would personally recommend playing Fallout 3 first, if you want to follow the main series' numerical order.

Hi, I was personally interested why you needed to play F3 after F4?

Falllout is not optimized for Windows 7 and it rarely crashes out or screen is locked 2/100 plays (I solve this with a lot of saves)

In my researches it is recommended to buy The Pitt and Vegas with starting to play F3. I have both but I didnt installed them, I only play F3 alone yet.

and I also have second question to all; Is it needed to have steam version of F3 to install Vegas or Pitt on it?

Are you saying you don't have the "Game Of The Year" edition of Fallout 3 ? But a disk copy of the core game then a disk of "The Pitt" ?

But if you have a disk copy of "GOTY" edition ... which includes all of the expansions ... you do not need steam period.

Now Fallout NewVegas ... is a completely separate game , not an expansion of Fallout 3. And it has a bunch of its own expansions.

The Fallout NewVegas Ultimate edition has all of the expansions with it. And I myself did purchase a disk from Amazon for it.

But low and behold ... it just installs steam , then I have to download and install from them.

Which is OK ... except that I do like having an actual disk copy , and I could have just bought it from steam in the first place, saving time and money.

So to answer your question , just need to know what versions you have.
