Problem with Synths is that their not just a new faction, but a whole new thing... They really need more of a dedicated backstory and ongoing story because their awesome and people like things more if they know more about them. Its hard to like them when there isnt much to them, they just seem shoehorned which isnt the Fallout Style we have come to know and love.

The lack of weapon degradation is really sad , but i have hope that a mod will change this (if no one does I 'm going to do it).

You mean the more dynamic game with meaningful choices and consequences, well-written quests, and actual RPG mechanics (albeit in a crap FP engine) created by a company who at the time contained people responsible for the original games including the guy who wrote the Fallout bible? Yes. Honestly.

Yes. That one. You know, the one where all you did was talk and talk and talk and talk and talk and get chased around for the first 1/4 of the game because you don't like slavers that completely forgive you. No one is likeable. It's laughably easy to become basically a God in settlements and you, as a Courier have absolutely no reason to be involved in any of it at all.

I found it boring, pedantic and pointless. I did like some of the mechanics over F3, yes, but, other than that, it was hard to give a fig about any of it.

Oh, ok. Guess I should have consulted you back in '98 when I was discovering and falling in love with the series. Funny thing: if you stroll around the internet you'll find that die-hard fans of the first two games tend to prefer FO:NV over Fallout 3. Now I wonder why that might be...

Its got some major improvements, but then its also got that dialogue system ive harped on about a whole bunch. No need to repeat that.

Its easily game of the year for me, but then its Bethesda and they make the best open world roleplaying games that I can find. Will it be game of the decade, beating out Skyrim, New Vegas and maybe TES VI in the 2010s? Unsure. Fallout 4 has a lot of elements to it that I think are improvements over the last 2 games this decade, but then that voiced PC is a bitter pill to swallow.

Not the worst, that would go to Fallout POS, but even if that game didn't exist FO4 still wouldn't be worst (I think 3 is) not because it's an amazing game, but because it hardly feels like a fallout game to me imo, so it doesn't qualify for worst (same goes for tactics). I found that FO4 gets about 100x better once you stop thinking about it as a fallout game.

I prefer to create my own stories. I could give a flyin' fig about their stories in most cases. It's their story, not mine.

Different strokes, bruh. Me? I prefer turn-based cRPGs over all other styles of games. Almost wish I didn't what with this golden age renaissance going on right now pickin' fights with my paychecks! I can't even remember all the pledges I've made in the past two or so years...

Not much to understand, really. Obsidian were familiar with what made Fallout 1 and 2 what they were, what made Fallout "Fallout-y" per se, and they did what they could within the limits of the engine and the very small time-frame they were given to complete the game. Fans of Fallout 3 are typically new to the series or Elder Scrolls fans so it makes sense they'd prefer it.

What a weird topic. The the tread name suggests that you could vote if this is the worst of the Fallout games, and I think that it is, by far the worst, but it's still a good game, so how do I vote?

I guess you can't stand playing Fallout or Fallout 2, then.

Fallout 4 is a great game, and the weapon crafting trumps the Fallout 3/NV system of fixing a weapon with another copy of it. You really don't know what you're missing.

it's a pretty valid reason when it prevents you from playing the game comfortably. Besides, if I leave the forums, how will I find out that they fixed the binding issues? Just hop over the PC technical support forums and you'll see I'm not the only one complaining about this.

You're comparing this game too much with FNV. F3 was basically as advanced in terms of tech, and it was also in fact less in-depth with the faction system.

Synths actually existed in F3. There was a random encounter where you talked to one that escaped through the railroad. That little chunk of lore is what Fallout 4 was based on.

You and your "Master Race". Lord knows you'll come up with a "mod" soon enough.

You know you can still CREATE your OWN stories even if NPC's have amazing stories to tell.
