Posted: Thu Dec 03, 2015 5:13 amSure, as long as he's kept on a leash. I don't agree with his opinion that the entire west coast should be nuked again because "LOL NOT POST-APOCALYPTIC ENOUGH." There's a lot of ways to limit the NCR, and a lot of great potential stories that could be told involving them. Renuking the West would be a waste.

Any project of this magnitude is dependent on a great number of people, it just so happens Avellone was one of the key players in some the most critically acclaimed RPGs ever. Tim Cain and Feargus Urquhart were part of that too, as was the guy who did the Pip Boy/Vault Boy drawings and all the people who created the various throwback branding for all the consumer products you see

Posted: Thu Dec 03, 2015 8:58 amLead on Kotor II aswell, which i thought was amazing. Unfornately not lead on NWN II or FNV. He is a great lead and writer. I want him on something Star Wars related, but then he would have to work for EA/Bioware, and that is not happening.

Posted: Thu Dec 03, 2015 7:45 amThe Sith Lords Restoration mod really only makes me feel worse about how KotOR II didn't get a proper development cycle.
I also thought the New Vegas DLC, which outside of Honest Hearts he was the lead writer on, had some of the best stories told in the Fallout setting. Yes, this includes Lonesome Road. It may be "pretentious", but I thought Lonesome Road was the good sort of pretentious... like BioShock. At least I was entertained by it.

Posted: Thu Dec 03, 2015 2:29 pmI enjoyed the DLC aswell, i just didn't enjoy the base game that much. Story that is, the gameplay was fun. Kotor II is a masterpiece though, and even better with the restoration mod.

And it's hardly relevant to his work on the Fallout series, and certainly relevant to whether or not he should be given creative control over the Fallout franchise. Especially since PS:T was 15 years ago.

Honestly? Both of those games are good, but you'd be doing yourself a better service in replaying PS:T. Best thing about PoE is, ironically, Avellone's NPC. I just really don't like RTwP games.
He was the lead on New Reno, Broken Hills, worked on special encounters and Vault City in Fallout 2. Hardly NOT relevant to his work on the Fallout series. Not to mention he was lead on Van Buren as well, which in turn means his hands were inherently deep in New Vegas.
