I don't think it's to much of a stretch to think that after a Nuclear apocalypse + 200 years someone would have stumbled across a television station and got it working again, like the various radio statioms around the wasteland. More recently I think of Hubris comics In FO4 which still has a set and working music/lighting.

I could be wrong but I don't think television has been mentioned in fallout as a form of entertainment for its inhabitants.

What do you guys think? Could/should this be something that could be future titles? Would it even be possible? Am I just ignorant and missed massive lore information about this?

I find it somewhat odd it wasn't put into Fallout already. Someone like Mr. House for example could have had sets put up on the Strip. Maybe not for entertainment but for advertising.

I can see other groups using TV to spread propaganda messages. I don't see TV in the hands of the average wastelander, but in the hands of large governments.

The average wastelander I think would have other things to do than to watch TV.

Honestly yea, I can see the NCR or House bringing back television, probably the same with the newly created state the ECBoS made in the capital wasteland as well.

Technically Nuka Break is actually the closest we have ever been to. To an actually TV show. The legitimate problem with the idea of a "Fallout Tv Show" is how will the show tell the story? And i can guarantee you, someone, somewhere out there will complain: "Oh wait um, I didn't make that choice. That's like totally stupid".

Whatever the show tells, it's fact and consider canon. If they go along the lines of the games. But! If it's something that is going on within the Fallout universe that isn't tied to the games, then yeah there will be no problems whatsoever. Because then the writers can explore all sorts of crazy ideas.

Uh the thread is about the possibility of television being used in the wasteland, not a actually Fallout tv show in our world :P

I would think that TV's which still work would be a lot rarer than functional radios. So rare, in fact, that even if someone could find a TV station that was repairable, no one would probably ever bother.

Which is why I said places that could actually support the idea of reinventing television would most likely have them, like the NCR who is pretty much less a few settlement trying to get by to a huge nation with industry, same with the ECBoS who would have the technological capabilities to make television and have turned the capital wasteland into their capital.

I do see parts as an issue, mainly the vacuum sealed tubes (but not really an excuse)... But also maybe who would have time to actually watch it.

Radio, sure as you can work and listen, Tv well not so much Maybe for the affluent wastelander who did not have to well just survive day to day for a living this would be great, but that power could be used for something else lights, heat, lasers heheh.

(honestly I think it may be just a pain in the butt to program heheh for the game makers and would like to see it more in game myself, and everyone knows Vault tek just had to have made a vault filled with crappy game show hosts, Sale channel personalities (QVC) and infomercial actors, not to test anything just to well store them all in one place, If any that vault was sure to be programmed to never open )
