But some live in salt water lochs so at a stretch they fit.

Not seen it, will look out for it :)

That would indeed by a terrifying sea monster! Swim into a pack of those and its curtains!

Sharp intake of breath - now that there is a mythological demarcation dispute. :P I can't find any reference to ocean going kelpies and no doubt water salinity has little to do with what habitats they can live in, with them being magical creatures and all.

If you'd picked the each-uisge that would have been different, as it lives both in the sea and in lakes.

EDIT: but it doesn't matter anyway as the OP is allowing all aquatic fictional beasties.

It might just be easier to allow any fictional aquatic creature rather than just restricting it to the oceanic ones. There are some quite fun freshwater beings such as Jenny Greenteeth, Peg Powler, Shellycoat and the Glaistig.

Well, I'd did say:
in the original post, so really it was unfortunate title wording on my part. Sorry!

Ah, it's my fault too then for not reading your OP carefully enough. :)

Just remembered another cool sea monster - the dreadful https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuckelavee.

Is there anything else but Kraken? :P

Or perhaps rather, does anyone know anything else than the Kraken? :hehe:
