SQUARE-ENIX has designed a classic PlayStation 1 (PS1) case for the PlayStation 4 (PS4) version of Rise of the Tomb Raider.

I miss those jewel cases holding the video games discs inside and the physical cardboard boxes holding the video games discs and manuals inside.
I wish Zenimax Media Inc. and Bethesda Softworks brings this stuff back as well.
As a limited edition maybe for The Elder Scrolls VI?
What are your guys thoughts on this?

If Square Enix are doing Tomb Raider now, I'm clearly well out of the loop on Playstation news.
It looks like a PSX case to me. Even had the black inner with the logo on it.

What a joke. Square-Enix Europe did a PS1 thing, when their actual PS1 games never reached Europe. PS1 games like Brave Fencer Musashi, Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy Tactics, Legend of Mana, Threads of Fate, Valkyrie Profile and Xenogears were never released here, and still haven't been released here despite the European Playstation Store support releases of PS1 US imports.
Although I suppose it wouldn't hurt if the PS4 was able to play digital PS1 games too, no idea why Sony went that route when PSP, PS3 and Vita are all able to do it. Heck, the PS3 was able to do it on day 1.

Ps3 was able to play ps2 games on day one too, but they later removed it. Actually, my ps3 plays ps1 games, but according to some people I talked to on the net, it seems like later versions of the ps3 had ps1 support cut as well.
But yeah, it's kinda ironic, they only had their major Final Fantasy titles released on the ps1. But still, I'd love to be able to buy that Tomb Raider 2 in that case. Heck, wouldn't mind if much more companies would have the trend return.
How is that a generic cd case? Maybe I'm senile, but what other media used CD cases that were that fat? It even has a "playstation" ingraved on the side of the black plastic.

I was wondering if anyone here would ever purchase a physical video game case made like this.
Made out of glass, literal glass that if you drop it breaks and shatters into a bunch of shards and the shard pieces cut you, yes real glass.
I don't think I ever seen a video game case, not even for limited editions made out of glass.
I do however think I seen one glass video game case in the huge glass display case of video games that Bethesda Game Studios has in one of those video interviews with Todd Howard sitting next to it.

I think he is being theoretical. When he said, "made like this" he should have put a semi-colon, as his description followed. At first I also thought that Ballowers was suggesting that this RotTR case was made of glass which, of course, it isn't and he isn't suggesting.
This is a good illustration of the importance of punctuation.

If it'd be a collector's edition, I would. I don't remember when I dropped a plastic case either, and I probably wouldn't even keep the CD in the case, it would just serve for sitting on a shelf, and looking nice.
