Open world fantasy RPG's for me, (witcher, skyrim etc..) I can happily play them and nothing else. I also like stealth games if they get the stealth right. So far, I think Far Cry 2 is the best stealth game ever made.

So what's your favourite genre?

My favorite has to simply be RPGs. I don't know about the certain type, but I guess open world is the one that I prefer. The Fallout series remain as my favorite video game series of all time, and I absolutely love The Elder Scrolls and Dragon Age, as well.

My first introduction to RPGs was with Pokémon Ruby. It was, at the time, the only game that I had to my GBA, so of course I played the crap out of it. I loved it, but I got tired of it after quite a while, so I turned to my computer and bought Morrowind and the Fallout Collection. And, oh man, it might've been some of my finest purchases. I honestly haven't completed neither of the first two Fallout games, due to the severe bugs and difficulty, but Morrowind is most likely my favorite RPG of all time. It's become so holy to me that I actually cried at the title screen and music when I decided to install and play it after a few years of just having it sit on my shelf. Morrowind is not without its many flaws, but it is still so very much dear to me.

[EDIT:] I can honestly play any game that is considered old, or retro, if you will. Old games have a special place in my heart.

Games like System Shock 1&2, Thief Gold&2 (best stealth games ever :P), Deus Ex, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines and Dishonored.

So games that use a first person view, are single player, good story and characters, and while not open-world they still offer a certain level of exploration. Or something :P

I only play roleplaying games. More specifically, the roleplaying games made by Bethesda. No other developer makes a roleplaying game that satisfies my gaming needs like Bethesda.

Hmmm, I used to have a very diverse taste in games. As I got older, and the reflexes are no longer the same, I have settled for games that's a bit slower in pace. I play mostly RPG's nowadays, altho I do occasionally play other things as well, and don't mind trying out cheap games just for the heck of it :D I play almost no fps anymore, as I sort of had my fill, but once in awhile, I will fire up a fps if it has single player mode or is pure single player, like Metro (I don't do games like CoD and the like, which are basically just new titles, same content overall)

I also play older games, mostly turn based strategic games, when I just want to relax 100% with a cuppa :)

Action rpgs. tes, fallout, witcher, mass effect, ect. I like single player games alot more too, most multiplayer games get boring after a few hours of shooting up the same maps.

Second would go to old school rpgs, or games made in that style. I like them more for their stories and attention to character details than the actual gameplay or camera views however.

Honerable mention goes to exploration games like minecraft and starbound. I especially like starbound because you can just wander around new planets looking for something new or cool.

Role playing games, for sure. I also enjoy a lot of board games on PC, which I miss playing with my friends face to face. Sometimes, I just feel like "killing things" so I load up a shooter game, though this is getting less and less frequent for me.

[EDIT]

Oh yes! I forgot my fun 4X and strategy games :)

RPGs, Stealth games, (Survival) Horror. Games with all three of those elements combined tend to leave me quite satisfied.

However, I am able to enjoy all genres of games so long as they're not JRPGs.

Narrative RPG, tactical RPG, stealth, grand strategy.

And TES, I suppose. That's a genre, right?

RPGs, of most varieties (WRPG, JRPG, ARPG, isometric turn-based, roguelikes, etc).

But I also like a variety of action games, some single-player FPS, some puzzle, Minecraft-likes.

Not a fan of Sports, Racing, 4X, RTS, and anything PvP. edit: oh, or Flight Sims.

RPG's, any really. Open world, first person, isometric, real time, JRPG, WRPG or turn based. It doesn't matter as long as it has a good story I'll enjoy it. :tops:

I don't really play that many games anymore.

I used to play a lot of fantasy RPG, and turn based grand strategy games, but I don't play them much anymore. Skyrim was the only fantasy RPG game I've played in the past 10 years. I have played Oblivion, but it was a lot different from Morrowind, that I couldn't get play it more than 30 hours. I have never bothered to going back to that game... at least I bought it when it was on sale. Skyrim was a lot of fun, but the only other fantasy game I see myself playing is the next TES game.

I like contemporary / sci-fi FPS and RPG games like the Crysis series and Fallout series. Other than FO4, the only game that I am currently playing is Star Trek Online.

I'd say general RPGs, especially open world ones. Story doesn't mean that much to me, personally, provided that there are other things to enjoy.
