Open world games are my favorite -- they don't necessarily have to be RPGs, though. Open world racers are great!

Whatever genre Dishonored is. :twirl:

First person is my preference. Beyond that, not sure what connects my favorite games.

Stories are not tops in my list, either. I've tried games where people said they had awesome stories and I just did not enjoy them. The gameplay, or lack thereof, got in the way of my enjoyment.

Genres are weirdly defined. So it is a little weird answering this.

Check my sig. Games like Morrowind, or just Morrowind. Sigh. RPGs do not understand elegance. Convoluted is the keyword. Then they don't understand non-linear either. And worst of all, they do not offer the RP experience with decisions and decisions which I want to consume in immersive first person, with lots of action. Bethesda makes the closest games, which fit the bill(less and less).

Immersive sims. Like Dishonored. Which gives something like the above except in smaller levels instead of open worlds. Maybe I should say the opposite! Immersive sims is my favorite genre. Morrowind just happened to be an open world version of it. But there aren't many games like Dishonored either.

First person shooters. Special ones like Half-Life and Duke 3D and not like the on rails stuff like COD that plays itself. They don't make these either. Where are my FPSs? Thank you, Wolfenstein! I hate your stealth but thank you for existing anyway!

Huh, they are all Bethesda published. They have my soul it seems. :P

First person interesting things, like Mirror's Edge or Portal or even Myst. Not the boring forced horror stuff. But these are very very rare. I like my Rainbow Six SP too but they don't make these anymore.

Third person games, I don't like them. But if they are raw and immersive enough, like Dead Space or Dark Souls or even Max Payne, I can give it a try.

An easier way would be to say, "except isometric games". They make me feel claustrophobic. And also cutscenes which make me feel like I am in a straitjacket. Cutscenes not a genre but it limits my third person(or even first person) game intake severely as they just can't stop injecting their bad cinematography and zombie NPCs citing their awful stories preventing me from immersing myself, when I could have been playing the game. The money, time and game resources spent on cutscenes seem to be a colossal waste to me. Except Silent Hill 2, but that could be an accident somehow. The cinematography in that game would give the best DPs a run for their money. Even then, maybe Silent Hill 2 should have been a movie, with some Oscars.

I actually like a lot of things all things considered! :vaultboy: Nevertheless, I am still basically scraping the bottom of the barrel here. :miner:

Whatever genere you classify Mount & Blade under. Once Bannerlord comes out, everything else is irrelevant.

Open World games generally. Mostly RPGs. My favorite video game series is easily Elder Scrolls though with Fallout being within top 5 somewhere. I do enjoy other games though from different genres but don't spend as much time on them. (Bungie-Halo series is within my top 5. I enjoy MK at times. Rock Band 3 is fun. So on).

But usually, Bethesda's RPGs what takes up most of my time these days. The only other game that gets close to Bethesda's works (counting total hours playing) is actually Team Fortress 2... TF2 just never gets old to me.

Tabletop gaming. (you name it ill try it)

Nothing beats the feel of rolling some bones and against all odds doing something spectacular that you or no one else expected. There the added bonus is you tend to hang with a group so the recluse title does not stick heheh as you do indeed have social interaction.

But really its a lovely excuse just to hang with your goofy group and do what ever it is you do.. Many board games are just as damn fun with the right people, as I suspect multiplayer video games would be for some. ( I have done Mudd's and made a few Canuck friends over the years but I really like being able to see the people and read them as I play, as I am generally more thiefy in nature than I should be)

RPG's (Witcher 3, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 4) and open world games (Far Cry 3 & 4, GTA series) are my favorites.

Anything that offers a lot of exploration and contains RPG elements. From Ratchet and Clank, over Metal Gear Solid 5, to Elder Scrolls or Final Fantasy. If it's open world it's a massive bonus, but not exactly necessary, I only tend to prefer games where all areas of the game are explorable, even in cases where there's only linear environment designing (like old FF games, which give you the ability to revisit all the previous areas once you're near the end of the game).
