Coffee, Tea, or Hot Chocolate?

In the bitter cold of the winter nights, the steam of the copper kettle embraces the nostrils like a spouse does their partner. Your eyes water and your shivering body urges for the sanctuary of warmth.

But do you prefer Coffee, Tea, or Hot Chocolate?

Tea!

Why is hot chocolate even an option. It's just chocolate flavoured mucous.

I tried that once, it was like drinking an ashtray. Couldn't stomach it.

I liked it's smokey pinewood taste xD

Anyhow, I wonder which beverage will prevail?

I voted no preference but my answer is yes to all of the above!

I went for a walk in a pine forest shortly after and it just made me gag because the smell reminded me of the tea.

Probably coffee will win. It's been replacing tea for some years now, even in places where you'd think tea would win, like Britain, coffee has edged it out. I've never drunk coffee, so I don't know if it would taste better than most tea. My family would think I was putting on airs and pretending to be middle class if I drank coffee.

Also if we're talking about winter drinks shouldn't eggnog and cidea be included? Still my answer is yes to all of the above!

Ah, I see, a person of all tastes :)

I wanted to have a narrow set to see a comparison of the 'winter drinks' that I'd think are common world-wide

Tea for me. Earl Grey to be precise. Very strong taste. No milk, it ruins it.

COFFEE!! Deathwish coffeeis the strongest i here but there are others that claim "strongest coffee" so grain of salt. for a stronger cup of coffee try robusta beans they have more caffeine than the standard arabica. Nothing like shaking and heart palpitations!

Tea. Specifically green tea. Never liked coffee and I've yet to come across any sort of hot chocolate that is actually good.

Warm spiced mead!

But since that wasn't an option, I suppose I drink more coffee than the others, followed by green tea, then hot cocoa (made with milk, not water).

I've grown a fondness for green tea too. I've found a pre-brewed that is flavored with honey and ginger and basically 0 additives. Really helping me curb my cola consumption. I have coffee in the morning (maybe later in the day too if I need a little boost) and basically drink water or green tea.

I like Earl Grey but I never understand how people can drink just that. I'd get stomach ache if I tried to have 7 cups of Earl grey a day. I space it out with some Ceylon or some green tea.

I also really love chai, despite it being basically the tea equivalent of those hipster coffees with the spices. Cloves and pepper work surprisingly well in tea.

I also have some Yerba Mate from south America, a vaguely tea-like plant high in caffeine with a very earthy taste. it took me ages to find a place that sells it here. I'd like to drink it at work for the stimulant effect, but It's kind of a messy process compared with teabags.

This

and this

Earl Grey is my favorite and also with no milk.

Caffeine does not have that effect on me. Actually it helps me to fall asleep. The only effect caffeine has on me are the withdrawal symptoms.

Tea basically is my coffee. The caffeine amount from tea is just right.

Tea, preferably Assam made with leaves in a pot, none of this stick a teabag in a mug nonsense

Don't like Earl Gray, smells like air freshener and tastes like what I imagine air freshener would taste like

In an effort to cut down my intake of caffeine late at night I recently tried Ovaltine for the 1st time in 40 years. Didn't actually dislike it but won't bother again, very bland

I drink tea most, but it's always iced. If we are talking hot drinks, I'll have to go with chocolate.

Tea if I'm sick, but if I want something to warm me up, I always go for a French Vanilla Cappuccino ^^.

None. No hot drinks at all - or cold for that matter. Thanks to a very dodgy stomach everything has to be tepid. Water or milk only. Meh.

All of them. Around the holidays I enjoy a nice hot mulled wine as well. With whiskey.
