We all have some game(s), movie(s), etc. that we always seem to come back to every so often. What are those things that just keep drawing you back? Can be a video game, a movie, or whatever else you think applies. And it doesn't have to be something that you play/watch/do all the time, as long as you just find your way back to it every so often.

I think about this now as I yet again started up a new game of Half-Life. It is hands-down one of my 5 favorite games of all-time, maybe even top 3. Since I already beat it on hard, I decided to add some more challenge to it by relying solely on autosaves this time around, so no manual saves whatsoever. The last couple of times I have beaten the game were relatively recently. The game just keeps finding ways to reel me back in.

Some of my "itches that need scratching" (not an exhaustive list, only ones that I can think of at the moment):

Video games:

Half-Life

Elder Scrolls games in general

Resident Evil 4

Movie(s):

The Fugitive

What About Bob?

I also like to play basketball often, and watch sports often too.

What are your "itches that need scratching"?

Well recently I had an overwhelming urge to load up Mechwarrior4:Mercenaries on my new computer. Love that game. It was weird because it wasn't too long after that I learned that they are making two new games set in the Battletech universe. Any BGS games from Morrowind to present titles are a given for me. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Sometimes I just have to play that game. Same for Super Castlevania IV.

Movies:
Tombstone. Whenever that movie is on TV I have to watch it!

I cant help it quest 64 is always in the back of my head but its such a grindy game with poor saving its such a hassle and yet it keeps calling me back after some time. Maybe its cause i never beat it with out cheat codes unfinished business?

I feel the same about Turok 2 for the N64. When I was young, that game was far too difficult for me to figure out so I used the cheats that gave you everything, and I beat it that way. To this day I have never completely finish the game without using cheats.

Right now, it's marathon runs of GoT.

But it's always some marathon run of a show or documentary series.

Right now, I'm having an itch to get back into Fallout 4. In general, I always go back to Civilization, and I watch the Lord of the Rings every year.

It's funny because the Elder Scrolls use to be my favorite games of all time, especially Morrowind, but I haven't had any interest in going back to any of them. When I first played Morrowind, I was completely floored by the possibilities of an open-world sandbox because I never played a game like that before, but now, they just seem like a rehash of the same formula. I guess I'm still apart of this community because I've been here so long(technically since way back in 05 - 06), and I also love Fallout. :P
