Do you think Bethesda realised this when creating the Elder Scrolls games and its History/Lore? Can you spot any links or similarities between real world Breton language and ES Breton language and or culture/History?
I would like to hear if anyone else has found any other examples of 'real life' things which may have played a part in some way in influencing Bethesda when they created the ES World/Universe.
Please dont turn this thread into a political or abusive thread by saying anything negative about a real world country and/or its people/language/culture. For example, dont say 'the Imperials are obviously the Romans' and then proceed to say anything negative, or which may be seen as abusive, to Roman History or Italy and its people.
Another example that I can think of where the real world is reflected/inspired into the Elder Scroll World is coinage. The design of the head on a gold septim is very similar to that of real life old or ancient coinage where the 'likeness' of an important person, usually that of the Emperor or Ruler, is the chosen image because it is seen as a 'unifying' and/or 'commonly recognisable' symbol for the peoples to use who live there
