[REQ] Werewolf Buff

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 6:07 am

I love being a werewolf...The speed, the feeding and it's powers. Never the less I can't say the werewolf is a powerhouse and is a force to be reckoned with. 1 vs 1 is a viable tactic, perhaps 1 vs 3 depending on the enemy. I do find that the werewolf lacks the boost in stats i think it should have. Transforming during combat is a terrible idea, feeding while fighting also but its the only way to recover health, and high level creatures or large groups give me a ass whoopin. I think this can be balanced out by either adding more health to the beast form, increase damage output or regenerating health.

Also, I think it be very cool if you could effectively transform while in combat, making use of the fear power while in the process of transforming.

I have limited amount of experience with the CK, considering this one will hopefully be much the same as its predecessors, if not I am screwed.

Anyone support this idea or have anything to add to it?

I have to admit, first thing I thought when I saw your thread title was "naked werewolves" - woohoo! :P

I haven't gotten a chance to play as a werewolf yet so can't really contribute on ideas or feedback for their powers yet. I'm not super thrilled with the way they look though, but I guess that's just gonna be a "some will like it, some won't" thing. I was kind of hoping more the look I saw in Age of Conan. Kinda liked that one.

A bit of advice to you, don't over estimate yourself while in beast form, it is tempting but a few wacks and you are low on health. Don't feed on corpses when enemies are coming after you and forget about transforming mid battle.

Beast form is great for assassination contracts in none hostile locations such as villages and city's and you can traverse huge distances in a short time while transformed.

I would like to see first person views while in werewolf form, if possible...

I would also like to see different werewolf colors, if possible...i.e. white, various shades of brown...

Nighteye ability...

I'm guessing this is going to be like vampire skins in the past titles. You'll probably have to pick one skin (fur) color and use that to override the default.

I like the idea of a Mod that gives a buff to Werewolves. IMO they don't feel quite powerful enough.

I'd also like to see a buff that adds a "sense of smell." Wolves have a sense of smell that is ~100 times better than that of humans. So it would make sense that you should be able to "detect life" while in Werewolf form.

I also think that any weapon, other than Silver, should only deal a small percentage of its base damage (e.g. 25%) against Werewolves.

I remember werewolves in Morrowind being much stronger, breaking shields in one hit, having constant night-eye, detect life, and health regeneration as well.

Not to mention the massively boosted Athletics and Acrobatics skills. Too bad those were removed in Skyrim.

I only just turned and after the first dungeon portion of that quest I have a few thoughts.

Things I'd possibly like to see:
  • Looting! Beast form is great for killing, but svcks having to leave so much gold behind!
  • Some kind of meter/timer that lets me know how much time left before I revert back to human form.
  • Some kind of meter/timer that lets you know when it will be available again. Not super important of course since it's just a 24 hour wait.
  • A way to force the transformation back to human form (sorry if this is already in the game and I haven't found it).
  • I definitely agree that eating animals should also work to restore health!
  • Maybe being able to eat & harvest those human hearts (or any meat) in your inventory like a potion.
  • Bring back night eye and detect life effects!

I like it even more in that I want the "beast-form power" to be toggable in and out of werewolf form, IE do it whenever you want ala "Underworld Lycans".

After that I also support buff's to strength and regeneration and being able to take a lot of damage except silver weapons which in turn should be really dangerous.
Having night-eye is only logical and detect life too since the seeing in night and the smell wolves are capable of lets them literally have those things in real life.

Also I want to be able to loot somehow, and if not, then have the toggable function to come in and out of wolf form to let me loot after I cleaned out an area.

I would love the ability to just turn and run into a bandit camp and slaughter them and immediately turn back to normal again.
I want to go into a Vampire dungeon and lay waste, they can't infect me, and that feeling of power.

to get out of wolf form when you killed everyone in a dungeon just press T and wait an hour. You will turn back to normal and be able to loot everything you left behind

Buffs are definitely needed for werewolves especially when your level 25+. Enemies just do enormous amount of damage and melts away your health, not to mention past level 25, Howl of Terror "shout" is useless as it only affects things 25 and below. (Useless unless your attacking a village)
Health regen would be very nice to have. Maybe feed once and you have regen for the remainder you stay in the form?

Also I like Loki's idea to toggle in and out of beast form whenever you want :>

What I'd like to see : Changing with moon phases (It's a curse, not a power damn it ! ) , Werewolf form dependent on how strong human form is (level , perks , etc) , buffs at higher levels, quests only for werewolves , werewolf guild

The game already has that I think.
Spoiler
Really, The Companions are the werewolf guild. With werewolf specific quests and such.

why not (if possible) add a perk tree in specifically for werewolves? but have it to where each perk requires a certain amount of feeding to be able to unlock. and every so many feedings gives you a perk point to add to the tree. having a branch or two for customization would also be nice, though i lack in ideas for what perks a werewolf would want mainly because i am more of a vampire fan. but i think a well thought out perk tree for the werewolves would give a lot of people what they are looking for.

maybe perks like : transformation with multiple levels. each level giving more transformations in a day.

Animal instincts - detect life and night eye (preferably toggle)

Beasts Stamina (multiple level) - transformations last longer

as i said i'm more of a vamp fan but these are some perks i think many would agree with.

When I saw your post, I was thinking of something like what I read when I got to Charon's post. Maybe the higher level you get as a werewolf, the more powers and abilities you could gain. After a lot of experience as a werewolf, you might be able to learn how to control it and thus be able to change at will. I'm not sure what all is hard-coded in Skyrim where werewolves are concerned though, so I don't know how much if this would even be possible. Could do something similar with vampires as well. Use one of my old Vampire: The Masquerade RP books for some powers and abilities ideas. :P

god i would love that for my vampire character. i said in another thread that for vampires there should be 3 threes : Berserker, Shadow, Blood Magic. and the way to gain perks would be based on feeding. technically though i would like to see a way to master all 3 braches and become like a vampire patriarch/matriarch.

You can already go in and out of transformations at will if you are a werewolf and also have Hiricine's Ring, as far as I know

I kind of like the balance that beastform provides though. Makes it less "werewolf 24/7 except when looting" and more a more of a special, "ITS BRAWL TIME!!"

And it svcks your terror shout begins to dwindle after level 25 or so. Right now it WTFPWNS everything at level 11, though I HAVE ran into some bandits that are very hard to kill for some reason (usually its mincement so far). When I went into said bandit camp I just used my power ability to launch people off cliffs, or just grinded away at their health as a whole until I changed back into human so I could finish off. Though... my idea of a werewolf would be able to take care of all "standard" problems (i.e. bandits/village) before the werewolf would turn back, to avoid being seen in my true form.

Onehanded skill is directly related to the damage you do though. So if you get werewolf form late game and have a bad one-hand skill (i.e. if you are a mage or archer or twohanded user) then wereform will do absolutely [censored] damage for you. So it's more useful early level because of that, or useful if youve already leveled up your one hand skill a lot. Kind of a bad oversight on Bethesda's part but... sadly this is a side effect of completely getting rid of all attributes! Everything is skill based.

EDIT: I read somewhere that werewolves have a totall of 3 powers they can use, and they just start out with terror shout, with the rest being unlockable. Is this not true?

Even though I do agree with making the werewolves more powerful, to defend Bethesda Werewolves are creatures too so I think that they are well balanced now.

werewolves need to be:
-2x faster and jump much higher (run across rooftops ...)
-far more powerful
-night eye
-health regeneration/ feeding optional but not required
-transform into end out of the beast form at will

I hope those are manageable

These would make werewolf form the way to be.
I know changing at will and not having to feed less immerse, but i like them more traditionally like very powerful monsters.

well in terms of character strength and level you could be a master vampire but in oblivion you could make up powers for a vampire character, i made powers and named them from the vampire masquerade bloodlines.

The Werewolf was very good in skyrim but the fact you can't feed on other animals and just humans is annoying, meat is meat so a werewolf should eat whatever it can such as a dear, sabrecat and bears etc

Transforming takes sooooo long, also it's useless against any enemies that can do alot of damage because I can't heal myself. Note to self and others: Do -not- use beast form against a dragon.

I completed owned a dragon in beast form. Of course I was only level 19, and it was "occupied" by Lydia :P

I tried to use it, but it just kept hitting me with fire from a distance and ofc I had no ranged attacks and there was no way for me to heal so I had to leg it.
