What is safe?

I was one of the few that didn't update with 1.2 and since I have a broken quest right off the bat.. Waking Nightmare... I've just been exploring gathering herbs creating potions and trying to discover locations without interfering with these places too much.

My question is wtf can I do to still enjoy the game and not break more of what is already broken for me??? I'm trying not to kill people or level so much just do stuff that won't come back to bite me in the end...

Honest and real suggestions will be appreciated.

I would personally stop playing. I envy you for even being able to play, as the 8-bit textures are a bit depressing and stopped me from progressing any further. But what I am saying is that for a lot of people, the textures aren't fixed, and it would seem that once you have the bad textures, they are stuck that way. And this affects EVERYTHING in the game. Armor, weapons, your hands, scenery, water, moss, snow, stone, wood, it all looks low res and bad. No amount of cache clearing, or installing to a USB stick or the HDD fixes this for me.

Listen I can still play Morrowind and enjoy it. The low res stuff doesn't bother me so much. Game breaking quest glitches do bother me as it breaks the game pretty much...

So not so much graphics as playability.

I just learned the hard way that someone called Silius Vesuvius if killed before you start the quest you cant do the quest to obtain a certain deadric artifact the quest is call Piece's of the past.

Don't make the same mistake I did and kill or let him be killed if it pops up "Quest failed pieces of the past" load a previous save.

Also there is another quest that can glitch called the forsworn conspiracy DO NOT do this quest as the guards do not offer the initial dialogue to finish the quest, though there are ways to fix this, its complicated and not worth doing the quest as you only obtain some leveled gold and its not worth doing,

Im not sure if it affects the game other than the quest (even though it might as I can remember something being said) but be cautious this quest is given to you by someone is markarth after entering for the first time and witnessing a fight the guy drops a note.
