What's the best thing to do?

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 10:08 pm

I'm suffering with the crazy bugged Dragon flight, the dragons don't land (even on zero health), freeze in mid-air, and can even become so bugged they fly backwards.

As soon as encountered this, I came here, was told it's a known bug with this patch, and that's that.

I have stopped playing this beautiful game for fear that this patch is corrupting my saves (or will corrupt them) and now I feel like I am in mourning for the loss.

How common is this problem?

Is the best thing to do just waiting for a further patch?

Yep, atleast I'm just letting my game collect dust until this is fixed.

They're meant to be fixing that this week.

Unfortunately, it seems the only thing you can do is wait.

Bethesda has been PATHETIC about communicating with their customers about what we can expect and when. It appears they have stuck their heads in the sand and refuse to even acknowledge that most of these folks can't play or don't want to play for fear of corrupting their work so far.

Your only recourse seems to be to troll around here and hope that you catch a sniff of if/when/can they even fix this collosal cluster.

Enjoy the silence!!

Yeah lol, they said rare flying backwards dragons, pfft. I figured it out, on my game atleast. Every "lair" dragon gets bugged when it respawns, the random attack dragons seem to be fine.

I must admit, it's good just to talk about it with others because there seems to be so little being communicated by anyone, Bethesda or otherwise.

I found this article a few minutes ago which has a video of the dragon problem: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2397099,00.asp

I notice the dragon in this doesn't attack either...

I also have suffered bad slow down when close to a dragon who seems to be having an epileptic fit while flying.

Yeah, I'll freeze if I stay to long or bring its health halfway down. It's a shame I was enjoying this game alot, I didn't see the texturing being that bad. I mean you have to expect it if you don't go threw a loading screen for awhile its a big game. But now the game is broke to me until its fixed. IMO quest bugs should've been prioritized not textures.

I feel the same way and Ive stoped playing. What Im doing now insted is moan and [censored] about it in the forums. And i will not stop [censored]ing about it until Bethesda starts testing their patches and release a new patch.

I'm glad I read about others having the backwards dragon issues before I had a chance to update. (I worked twelve-hour shifts during the first half of the week so it was toward the end of the week that I had time to hop back into the game, by which point I read about the problems.) I have thus far refused to let it update until I read about a patch that doesn't cause further problems. All it does is disconnect me from Live, and I don't really do much of anything with Live anyway so it's no biggie.

There isn't actually a texture issue. It looks fantastic on my 360 because I uninstalled it from the hard drive. The load times are still reasonable and I get everything with wonderful detail.

There are several million copies of the game out and about, a small percentage of players experiencing backwards dragon is rare. While there are reports of it (that is being patched as we speak) it did not affect as many people as other issues.

Yeah my friend has zero issues, he also hasn't started any quests, he's been in whiterun working on smithing and still hasn't warned the jarl about the dragon attack. It seems to only affect people with lots of hours played, dungeons and dragon lairs cleared multiple times.

lol the patch broke the game, no magic resistance is a core game mechanic that some people build their avatar around, there are several perks related to it, racial traits, the lordstone etc so it makes all those things useless, you may not use magic resistance but to people who rely on it, that means its broken for them...kinda like if bows didn't shoot arrows anymore, would you say the game is still working great then? or how about if armor didn't actually work, and gave you no protection, would you say the game was still working fine? so being ignorant about the latest patch isn't making the problems go away, and not one person i heard of reported a backward flying dragon until the patch, the game was working pretty solid for a lot of people, now its working pretty shakey for a lot of people, the majority of people are experience some type of problems.

I am playing my stealth character with zero enchants on any weapons and I have 325+ HP with blessings to counter the magic nukes. At level 40, elder dragons cannot damage me more than I can heal. Resists are broken so I just avoid them. Once the resists issues are fixed I will take off the 75 HP worth of gear and move on. :)
