When did you start seeing dragons?

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 6:34 pm

Im talking about a free roaming dragon that you just happen to see flying around the world. Not quest related ones! Because i haven't seen 1 yet and i'm lvl 10. Just trying to workout if this is normal or not. So tell me everything you know!

You have to be a little ways into the main quest before they start spawning, right?

Would you say that you see them often or rarely? By often i mean at least once every hour.

A lot depends on how much I get lost in looking at stuff. I'm really bad to stop and admire the artwork. Probably every 45min to 1.5 hours.

It's been over 10 hours. Either i've missed something obvious or something is very wrong.

Helgen obviously :P

But other than Alduin in the tutorial they only start appearing once you start the main quest. The first one you should see is outside Whiterun.

This may be the answer i'm looking for. I hope it's that simple!

I did help those people kill that dragon outside whiterun but i haven't seen any since. Does anybody know whether dragons keep to certain areas? or is it all completely random?

I've seen one at level 5 or 6, I had just passed Fort Amol and was crossing a bridge when I suddenly heard vibrations, I looked up assuming it must be a dragon and there it was, it flew around the sky numerous times under the crisp sunset and then flew off without landing or even disrupting me.

It was a beautiful little moment for me as I watched the peaceful, first dragon fly away majestically :') ;)

Besides the first dragon you kill for the main quest, I've seen and killed one.

I'm level 8, four hours into the game.

I cannot remember the name of the mountain, but it's East of Whiterun... and you get a miscellanious quest to search for the source of power in the mountain.. as I approached the Word Wall's area, a dragon flew overhead and started the fight.

P.S. Summon Storm Atronachs when fighting dragons, itz beest!

Ah, then like Oblivion - you don't start seeing the gates until a certain person reaches a certain destination (hope the vagueness is sufficient warrant no spoiler tags). I'm good with that.

It is when you complete the quest "A Blade in The Dark" and the beginning of "Diplomatic Immunity" when Dragons become more frequent, before the completion or start of these quests they don't appear only if spawned on a quest.

you have to help kill a dragon at Whiterun then 5 random ones spawn, more and more random spawns happen deeper in the MQ, the 5 do reappear, so they are unlimited.
