Where are all the Slaughterfish?

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 7:57 pm

After swimming loads of rivers and lakes I have not seen one Slaughterfish, plenty of eggs but no fish! In Morrowind and Oblivion I was scared everytime I put a toe as you usually got attacked but not a nibble in Skyrim. Is there a reason for this? Has anyone seen any?

I've seen one slaughter fish in Skyrim so they are there but rare.

They weren't that common in Oblivion either. I was never scared of going in the water in the game.

In Morrowind though they were everwhere and the waters were dangerous.

The fish in Oblivion were punny. Now in Morrowind they were dangerous and clustered around all the pearls and underwater grottos. Made swimming a real challenge.

I've met one and it was almost impossible to kill due to your inability to unsheathe weapons under water....I have to lure it to the shallow to kill it

Theres a few in the large lake in the Falkreath region. Killed one as it got close enought to the shore that I could hit it, but in general you can't attack while swimming so they are more annoying (in both they chew away at you and you can't get hold of their scales!!).

Hmm I thought they were taken out. Haven't seen one yet.
In Morrowind they were [censored] deadly to low levels!
Good way to train your armor skills at higher levels though :D

I've seen a dead one though. But mostly salmon..

Perhaps the salmon ate the slaughterfish

I've seen a lot of them near Riverwood. Barely escaped.

They are still around but seeing as bethesda removed the ability to fight underwater i'm guessing they've cut back on the slaughterfish so people dont get pissed off trying to cross a river and end up getting eaten to death by an enemy we cant fight back against

I almost was killed by one just out of the tutorial. Tried to figure out how to attack it as it chewed away at my Khajiit. Cats are supposed to like fish, not the other way around.

That was the first and only one I've seen though I havn't gone into the water much lately.

Actually I was swimming in a body of water out of riften, I had 4 of them following me but I didn't get attacked. I thought it was odd but brushed it off.

I met 2 while swimming, quickly swam out of the water and ran to town on land.

They followed me.

Wat.
