Where is the new world map?

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 6:51 pm

I really can't find any TES map that isn't over 200 years old. I want to see a map with the new landmass changes (particularly Morrowind). I want to see a map with the country boundaries and a listing of what countries control what. Has there really never been an official release of a new world map yet (or did I just miss it)?

Thanks.

Well, a quick google search gave me http://www.google.no/imgres?q=tamriel+map&um=1&hl=no&safe=off&sa=N&biw=1599&bih=795&tbm=isch&tbnid=Pm5-4K7Ny7Ek8M:&imgrefurl=https://images.nonexiste.net/popular/2012/02/27/great-map-of-tamriel-at-the-time-of-skyrim/&docid=BjlSMjwG0W-4YM&imgurl=https://images.nonexiste.net/popular/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Great-map-of-Tamriel-at-the-time-of-Skyrim.jpeg&w=1121&h=782&ei=YZqFT9v5DpHV4QSLirWnBw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=179&vpy=330&dur=1156&hovh=187&hovw=269&tx=106&ty=107&sig=104254868811494325753&page=1&tbnh=130&tbnw=187&start=0&ndsp=28&ved=1t:429,r:21,s:0,i:110.
Does this help?

I don't believe any official maps have been released.

That's actually the closest thing I've seen. The Wiki I go to still has the OB map as the latest.

Would love to see an official map like that (assuming that one isn't, though it looks well done).

I don't think it's official, would probably be a whole newly drawn map if so. Bethesda wouldn't just take the old one and slap some colours on it.
Though it gives a good idea of how the situation is.

That map presents the issue of Markarth and its relation to the westerly borders of Skyrim.

I have seen several maps which present Markarth at that location, which to my eyes appears more to be at the in-game location of Rorikstead. TESV presents Markarth on the extreme western border of Skyrim.

Pray tell, does Bethesda usually post an official map image on their website at a game's release?

Windhelm, Whiterun and Riften are pushed westwards too, and there's no Morthal at all. In fact, Markarth is in the place Morthal should've been.
I guess it's an older map, and only the newest map of Skyrim is updated.
