Why is it so hard to find ore in this game?

Seriously game first off does not teach you how or what it looks like or how to find it. Second they blend into caves so well you can see them. I bought game on 360 but its just impossible. Maybe im to used to mod on pc i used called glowing ore veins 300 and before that i never even noticed them.

They are most prominent in mines. Go figure.

Anyways, you can spot them out from a normal patch of wall/ground. You can see the minerals sticking out.

This.
You just have to pay more atention. Give it more time, and you can see the difference.
Actually it's quite fun to divide ores and plain rocks.

It can take a while to know what an ore vein looks like, but spend some time in a few mines (where the raw ore is plentiful) and you should be able to spot them relatively easy afterwards.

Ore does have a faint glow to it, it doesn't shed light, but it doesn't get covered in shadow like the rest of the rocks.

I have the opposite problem. I see ore everywhere. Especially iron ore.

As I am not much of a Miner, I am more of a Hunter. I have some experience in mining some Ore. They are located in mines at Dawnstar, Shor's Stone, Darkwater Crossing, Left-Hand Mine, etc. There are other mines out there, but most are inhabited by Bandits.

Once you get used to spotting it, you'll see it everywhere. Its just a matter of training your eyes. I'm a 360 player as well.

Carry around some torches or a light spell. Those can't be handy in caves and darker places.

It's not difficult to spot ore at all in this game and it's everywhere. Check out UESP for major ore clusters.
