WILL THERE EVER BE A SKYRIM CREATION KIT FOR XBOX 360

Post » Tue Sep 04, 2012 11:13 am

I had heard in couple interviews Todd Howard mention that he would like to see creation kit added to xbox 360 and that bethesda are working with Microsoft to bring it on xbox, but will it happen?
What you guys think?
If they were the same interviews that I saw/listened to, he didn't say that.

Todd said he would like to see the ability for 360 players to add mods to their games. However there are a lot of problems and issues that would have to be worked out before that would be doable in a legal, official manner.

Until/unless the 360 can run a lot of programs that can only be run on a computer, there can't be a real version of the CK that will work on the 360. It isn't the same as making map levels for some of the 360 games.

console gammers have pc envy..
yes i own a console (ps3 cuz imo its a better machine, but cross platform games are better on xbox).

if you want the perks of pc gamming, mods, console commands and even ck then invest in a pc not new gen xbox imo...

p.s. this topic has been beaten to death :P

i wasn't quoting exact words just the idea, either way i guess its not likely to happen, but wanted to see what other members think

I don't know if we will have Mods on console but what I really want is a possibility to have in the main menu a section : "skyrim nexus" where you can download PC mods on console.
They can put a small team (10 people) to trying to make all mods from skyrim nexus compatible with console. It can be fun.

PS: Why they can't put console command on console. It can be done I'm sure!!!

I dimly recall seeing somewhere way back when the 360 was due to be released that there was no support for keyboard input on commercial games for the 360. There is a document out that has information about creating games for the 360. http://www.scribd.com/doc/65035695/73/Hardware It says the same thing in the section for hardware; "While the keyboard isn’t supported for playing commercial Xbox 360 games, it can be used for data entry in place of the on-screen virtual keyboard." Since the games are commercial games, there can't be keyboard support, and the keyboard is what you use to add the console commands.

nope, besides the console being weaker than the pc, microsoft/sony are only decent at what they do, they do not see the fact that they could actually make money off of mods/creation kits/ect and instead choose to be stingy and slightly less productive

People also don't seem to get that the Creation Kit wasn't a quick little modding tool like Halo's map editor. It was pretty much what Bethesda made to design Skyrim, albeit a bit refined and simplified for public use. Another example would be Valve's Source SDK and Source Filmmaker.

I hope not. The last thing we need is broken consoles ...
Perhaps on next gen consoles though.

Yeh, consoles already have a broken game.
