WILL THERE EVER BE A SKYRIM CREATION KIT FOR XBOX 360

Post » Tue Sep 04, 2012 4:08 pm

I had heard in couple interviews Todd Howard mention that he would like to see creation kit added to xbox 360 and that bethesda are working with Microsoft to bring it on xbox, but will it happen?
What you guys think?

Technically impossible, the hardware can't run it. Contractially impossible, Sony and Micro$oft would never allow it.

Personally, I do not think they will be able to implement the Creation Kit on the current generation of consoles. However, I think it is more likely, that they might be able to package some popular content mods at some point as an official release for the console versions, if they find the idea compelling.

too many limitations on consoles. at this point, if you want mods, you're going to have to get the PC version.

No. But not because Bethesda does not want it, but rather because Sony and Microsoft make it impossible for mods to come to consoles.

Half of the mods will break your Sitbox, and every good mod will burn the Sitbox. Also Microsoft doesn't like free stuff.
There is no way on earth they could make a UI that works for the consoles

I'm pretty sure the only way we'll get console mods for Skyrim is if Bethesda releases a version of it for the Ouya,

No. Maybe on next gens or perhaps they would do a more simple version like has been done for Far cry 2 and most likely Far cry 3.
Edit: just remembered that's a map editor.

I think a better question would be, WILL THERE EVER BE SKYRIM DLC FOR PS3?

But really, it would be nice to see something like this on consoles even if it is a very simple version of the CK.

I believe the CK is a tool devs use anyway, and just throw that in with the game so PC users can mess about with it like they did.

On consoles they would have to make something from the ground up which is pointless and just a waste, really.

no, what you saw was an interviewer put him on the spot with that question at e3 and he basically said he would like to but not gonna happen.

it won't happen because microsoft won't allow any form of legal game modding, god forbid if they ever allow someone to mess with their achievement preciouses :P

Mods on consoles violate the UELA. No point denying that it is indeed technically physically possble to mod a game on console, just that its illegal. Construction sets however, I don't think they are the same. A lot of games on consoles allow cheats, but achievement progress is disabled so as long as cheats are active. I think that's the more comparable case, but don't quote me on that, I'm not 100% sure.

You want the CK? Buy Skyrim for PC. It won't ever happen for a console because the makers of said consoles can't turn a profit off of free content.

I hope not. The last thing we need is broken consoles ...
Perhaps on next gen consoles though.

I don't know if we will have Mods on console but what I really want is a possibility to have in the main menu a section : "skyrim nexus" where you can download PC mods on console.
They can put a small team (10 people) to trying to make all mods from skyrim nexus compatible with console. It can be fun.

PS: Why they can't put console command on console. It can be done I'm sure!!!
