If you could live in the Elder Scrolls universe...

where would it be and in what era? What race would you like to be, if you could choose? What kind of career would you pursue, if any?

I wouldn't mind being an Imperial living somewhere around Chorrol sometime in the 3rd era before the Oblivion Crisis takes place. Chorrol is my favorite city in Cyrodiil. I would enjoy the scenery of the Great Forest and a trip to the Imperial City wouldn't be too far a trip (on horse). As for a career, I would want to join the Fighters Guild and help the people in Chorrol.

I would be a Dunmer Wise Woman. I would live in a Yurt in the Grazelands, in the third era.

hate to be "that guy", but..

I wouldn't want to.. the gap between the rich and the poor in Tamriel is worse than in our world.. it seems over half of all political or law officials are corrupt (granted there are corrupt officials in our world as well, but we have some systems in place so it doesn't affect "Joe Shmoe" as much in our society as it would in Tamriel).. there would be no jobs for a computer monkey (I am decent with a bow as I did competition shooting back in highschool so its possible I could be a half decent hunter, but to risky.. and "Historian" seems to be a somewhat iffy concept as far as Tamriel goes), so I would likely struggle to put food on my table.. the level of danger from pretty much any source imaginable (Daedra, monsters, undead, Assassin Cults, guard who is just having a bad day, diseases) means my life expectancy wouldn't be very long unless I never stepped out of my shack..

Nirn, nice place to visit in a game, but i would NEVER want to live there..

As funnybunny notes, a soft and squishy Terran living on Nirn would most likely end up as part of one of those too-frequent piles of bones. Life is NOT kind there. Again, without a reload button, I wouldn't want to actually live there, because I probably wouldn't live there for long.

Argonian treasure hunter in the thick swamps of Black Marsh. One of the ugliest Naga variety.

I'd be a Breton, and probably a farmer or craftsperson. I'd probably live in the Bjoulsae River area (I like the name for some reason...) or around Wayrest.

I get funnybunny's concern, but there also seems to be a lot of people who get along fine even with all the potential problems to face. Then again, I'm not the kind to go looking for trouble.
