Your Steward

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 3:47 am

I am not sure if this has been made or not, so here we go!

Who did you hire for stewards at your houses(Heljarchen Hall, Lakeview Manor, and Windstad Manor)?

Did you hire Marcurio as a steward, because you wanted a Mage, or did you want Belrand to become a steward, because you wanted a Spellsword?

Heljarchen Hall - Adelaisa Vendicci

Lakeview Manor - Agmaer

Windstad Manor - Golldir

Previous character my housecarls are my stewards, but with my current character, Golldir (warrior) is steward at Heljarchen Hall. I have not built at Lakeview, and Winstad still only has the small house, so no steward there.

I was thinking about having Golldir as my steward, but decided not too.

That's probably a good thing. As soon as I built the small house at Winstad, he started disappearing a lot and going over there! He was very good until then, and still is when I use him as a follower.

Well...
Tiberius, my Imperial, will probably go with Lydia as steward. She's been lounging around Dragonsreach long enough. And Runa, his soon to be adopted daughter, needs a strong female role model.
Ch'zar, my Khajiit, will likely settle in Falkreath and create the ultimate multi-race household - orc follower, Redguard housecarl, Nord wagoner, probably a Dunmer like Brelyna as steward.
And my Dunmer lives in Proudspire Manor. No steward required.

Adelaisa Vendicci is a excellent steward, in my opinion.

Windstad- My housecarl from Morthal is my steward. I forget his name.
Lakeview- Uthgerd is my steward
Heljarchen- Illia is my steward. I felt bad leaving her alone in that old fort and to show her appreciation she almost immediatly furnished the place when asked.

I am just going with Lydia as my steward with my current character who is using the Lakeview house. She was with me when I was building it and actually asked if she could be. I couldn't turn her down.. She was so nice about it. :P

Only built Lakeview...and got Gerthude.

Okay, she's a bit rough around the edges and perhaps isn't the most motherly woman to look after the adoptees...but due to some bug or other she does walk around nekid now. The truly worrying thing is that now the adoptees are also walking around in their undee daks, and my real world wife thinks that I am a pervert...thanks Beth.

Well, you're in sunny Falkreath, next to a beautiful lake. Maybe Gert is just being a good nanny and taking the kiddos swimming.

If it bothers you, give the kids clothes (weirdly, the same act that made them strip in the first place). Not sure about Gert, you could try returning her default armor, if you took it.

My Nord "Posey" chose Jordis as her Steward at Lakeview. I wanted a weapon and shield tank as a go to follower and she fit the bill. She has since added spouse and "Mama" to two adopted children to her duties.

Lydia is kind of the "universal housecarl", since she is assigned to you as part of the Main Quest. Even if you choose not to buy Breezehome, you can still have Lydia as follower, steward, and spouse.

You get other followers as part of other quests, but Lydia is the only one associated with the journey you take as Dragonborn.

Ooo Okay.

I prefer Argis the Bulwark, Calder, or Gregor as my housecarls when I want one with me.

Personally, Lydia makes me crazy. I want to scream at her to get the he## out of my room and let me sleep in privacy!! Creeps me out.....
I would take the drunk in Whiterun before Lydia.

Now Argis..... :hubbahubba:

Well I started new to play with heartfire and when building the house I was only level 12ish... Lydia was my follower at the time. I usually use her until I can get Mjoll in Riften and then move on to Jordis once I get thane of Solitude but I hadn’t got there yet. Plus I didn't want to use Mjoll as a steward because of her shadow might move in too and he bugs me. (don't even know if she works for steward) So basically Mjoll and Jordis are the two I am Obsessed with.

I just thought it was really cool that she stopped me and actually asked to be the steward. I thought that was a nice touch and I couldn't say no. Just send her back to tiny little breezhome after she helped me build this sprawling estate? Couldn't do it.

Edit: Can you switch Stewards? or is it a life time choice?

For my first playthrough, I'm taking the lazy way out and assigning the steward position to the housecarl of the hold each estate is in.

My character liked Valdimar so much, he ended up proposing. :D

J'Zargo?! I didn't know you could get J'Zargo as steward. I'll have to try that, since cats make everything cooler.

You CAN get Breezehome without Lydia. Just never let her talk to you after she's assigned. Even if you buy Breezehome, she'll be stuck in Dragonsreach until she talks to you; it's a scripted event. Once she talks to you, though, she goes to Breezehome if you own it.
