Zidane Tribal's PS3 lag video

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 11:27 pm

This video exemplifies the problems I'm experiencing with lag as well, around 9MB.

I think it important to have this thread active, as players can now evaluate what is meant with the 'lag' problem and what the impact can be on long term play.

Besides, its off topic but...zidane, your voice is really awesome,it sounds really special, i felt like being in a movie or official trailer.

Haha! Thanks so much ;)

For those that are nervous about experiencing "little" things...

I had those small bits of lag or quest glitches too. If you really want to keep playing as long as possible I would attempt some of the measures other people have posted. I think it may be too late for my save to be saved (harharhar) short of some weird video game voodoo keep your play times shorter and give the machine breaks. Now that my game is beyond lag...I'm really just hoping others are able to enjoy....I may threaten my husband however if I hear one more piece of storyline from his PC. >:(

Looks like I'll have to remake my character for the main quest,
remake my character for the side quests,
and remake my character one last time just to explore =P

I actually had to make separate characters for Fallout 3 GOTY and I hated doing it.

ah it's cool. I like going back and replaying games. especially ones where you can leave a little something for yourself to see the next time around.

Yeah I like to replay games too but normally it's after I have finished playing it once, I mean I always miss some things the first time or even the second time through so it gives it more replayability (is that even a word? haha)

Haha! Well I was so excited to play the FO3 DLC I had to do it. I LOVE Fallout 3 and still think it's one of the best games I've ever played :fallout:

Hahaha well fair enough, Fallout 3 was really good up till it started lagging and crashing on me constantly, also I got kind of bored with the Wasteland lol.

I'm starting to experience this now too :( I'm disappointed in Bethesda. After the Fallout 3 GOTY PS3 version fiasco I thought they would have been able to produce a game for my console that didn't still have those issues.

(PS Zidane, you have a really good voice for doing voice overs and stuff, you should try to capitalise on that)

Not had MAJOR issues but I will admit the game gets pretty choppy in certain areas, such as that town in a Dwemer ruin (forgot name).

Though I'm getting slightly scared now, just reached about 9500KB and I think the FPS drops are starting to become more frequent, even in an area like Whiterun where I have little to no issues normally the framerate 'hiccups' every few seconds. >.>

Be very careful... I wouldn't play the game anymore if I were you. My game got atrocious by the 9.5 MB mark. Wait for the patch in all seriousness. I'm still debating on whether I should load a save from a week ago when it was at 7 MB and continue from there once the patch is out. I'm not expecting miracles here, this is Bethesda.

By the way, was this problem ever fixed in FO3 and New Vegas? I wonder how it still exists after so long. How does something so obvious pass unnoticed in testing anyway?

No.

I wonder how it still exists after so long.

Bethesda is either unwilling or unable to fix it.

How does something so obvious pass unnoticed in testing anyway?

It doesn't. Especially when it's a known issue from previous games on the same engine. They've known about it for years so they either can't or won't fix it. In either case it's pretty cynical of them to continue to release games on the PS3 with this known game-breaking bug in them.

That video is exactly what my game is doing soul destroying it really is were in 2011 how are major gaming companies allowed to get away with this is beyond me. You could sort of understand if this was there first major release but nearly every game bethesda release is a bug infested mess at release.

Normally people don't make a fuss about it and just take the shafting. Still hoping it's magically fixed this week.

This is probably the best news I've heard so far on these boards.

Now, I wonder if they can go back and fix Fallout 3 and New Vegas....I know I know...just a dream...

I know, right? It would be amazing if they could fix it for Fallout 3 as well, but I won't push our luck.
