Advanced RP tip

I find myself using this a lot and it helps with the RP.
The 'showracemenu' CK.
Every time i change my character status, by reaching some level or changing his combat style or achieving a great feat, i pull this screen and make some changes on his face.
This helps me roleplay the character.

For instance, when i become a great wizard, i give him a great white beard. A thief, add a moustache.

A fierce warrior, some scars, rusty face.

What do you think?

Start game looking like Connie Nielsen, end game looking like Leslie Nielsen.

I wish there was a feature like that for console, such as a barber shop or some shady mad basemant scientist who's willing to carve your face up.

It makes sense since when you start the game your character barely knows how to hold a sword and two weeks later he can one-hit-kill dragons.

be careful, changing some things will reset your skills. or permanently remove race bonuses (without adding new ones)

It sounds very fun, but...

...this. In Oblivion, even just bringing in the race menu via console was pretty much fatal for your stats. Don't know if it's the same or not for Skyrim...

That's pretty cool. I didn't know about this feature, but may use it with alts. Right now, I'm pretty happy with how my Nord chick looks, but options are always nice.

Showracemenu breaks racial abilities such as frost resistance (nord), fire resistance (dunmer), poison/disease resistance (bosmer), etc.

To the best of my knowledge, there isn't any way to re-add these once lost (and I spent the better part of an hour looking before I finally reverted to an earlier save)

A thief, add a moustache.

Tom Selleck would like to have a few words with you.

If you are a nord and change to Altmer, you will surely lose your 50% frost resistance, that's pretty obvious.

Now if you are talking about Nord > Nord losing it's frost resistance, this is worth saying. Thank you.

Anyway, i dont care THAT much for racial bonuses over roleplaying.

It would be pretty cool if there were barber shops to change your hair appearance, and then occasionally you might get a scar from a random fight or going beneath 10% health or something like that. Scars could be removed by restoration mages or priests, for free(Because you're dragonborn, of course!)(Or if you decided not to do that, because you're "One of Great Destiny" or something like that.)

If you only alter the appearance, you can do this with showracemenu. Just do not change the race.
If you want to change the race, do this with the command player.setrace and then you can change the appearance with showracemenu.

I tried this once and I got the new racial abilities without a problem.
However this was only a test, I never played with this char for a longer time, so I don't know if the abilities are broken.

Best is always to keep a backup save.
