Awfully quiet on the ATI front...

Any news on upcoming drivers or perhaps any new beta ones out?

official WHQL 12.1's are to arrive in approximately the next week if WHQL successfully passes. Which will be essentially identical to that of the current 12.1 Previews.

A newer hotfix or 12.2 preview is not currently expected from the few sources i have. Although there is always a potential for a sudden appearance at any time.

The Rage3D web site gets semi-official rumor type information more than anywhere else, being sponsored by AMD, who dropped the "ATI" brand for current production two years back.

Good that they're focussing their effort on the dismal failure that's currently occupying the bargain bins, rather than the best selling PC game of 2011.

Skyrim has been fixed by AMD. There aren't any performance or drivers issues that I know as of 12.1 preview, game runs excellently on my 2 Radeon 6870 with super sampling enabled.

AMD have done all they can, The 12.1 preview(which contains previous 11.11c fixes etc) is as good as it gets & the responsibility is with Bethesda to optimize Skyrims terrible CPU bound nature.

Skyrim desperately needs to use more threads to make the most of crossfire, Good scaling is only possible when the CPU is not being strangled to death.

This. Even if you had over 9000 GPUs with twelve thousand exabytes of GDDR84 RAM the game would still be CPU limited. Best way to make use of your spare graphics power is to enable super sampling. makes the game look much better.
