Cant find AMD Driver v12.1 on AMD Site?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 11:59 pm

Hi,

I've read that the 12.2 version is flakey and want to update to the 12.1 version. But the AMD site has only the latest version available? Is there something I'm missing on their site?

Where can I get a valid version of the 12.1 driver if not from the AMD site?

Thanks,

Marden

I just fail to see the point in replying if you're not going to be of some use. Whilst it does incredibly annoy me when people seemingly have no idea how to use Google, I myself did spent a bit of time finding Guru3D for the first time, so I empathise with him.

Just helping a fellow gamer learn how to find an old driver man. Save him a few more forum posts in the future :)

Well my question was actually two-fold, and I considered it valid. I firstly wanted to know if the official AMD site have previous versions available for download and I was just missing the location on their site. And secondly, I don't necessarily TRUST all sites that show up when I google them, especially if I'm going to download something from them... I guess I'm just a little security consciuos that way...

PS Thanks for the replies though.

YEs they have them all --- at the bottom of the page with the newest drivers is a link that says Previous versions clicking on it will bring up the earlier versions -- IF you still wnat older than that select Legacy drivers and it will bring up much older versions !!

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/previous/Pages/radeonaiw_vista64.aspx

And don't blame you for not trusting unofficial sites for getting them as many of those are modified versions that sometimes run better but other times have stability issues !

@ JDFan: Well now, that is the answer to my first question! I've looked right, left and center (bottom) for the option to select previous downloads, and I'm not seeting that when I go to amd.com. Could you post the link that would display that?

Thanks,

Marden

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx-- click on the right side where it says

AMD Radeon? Desktop Video Card Drivers
  • http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win7-64.aspx
Then on that page the third link from the bottom that says
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/previous/Pages/radeonaiw_vista64.aspx

@ JDFan,

OK I see my error. I was clicking on the link for the AMD Mobility Radeon page, which is what I have, which does not show links to previous versions. Mystery solved thanks to your help!
