Mods' Synergy: a list of mods I feel fit nicely togehter

Post » Sun May 27, 2012 9:13 am

I use quite a few mods that work well together (as far as I know ). I thought I'd share this for anyone that might benefit as well as for opinions or suggestions. I'd love to find another mod that fits in really well with these or to find an alternative mod that meshes even better than one I have.

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3646 My core mod, which is my favorite combat mod

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=15223 With DP's strategic fighting, this just felt natural. If the enemy deems running a better strategy, they run instead of fight to the death.

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11139# DP doesn't touch magic really, so I felt this mod would round out Skyrim's combat.

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=10639 Food/sleep mod that works well with DP's mod above

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11163 a hypothermia mod that works well with IMCN's survival style gameplay

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=4424 A map I can carry and read fits the survival style very well

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=10175 and http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=9778 Love the changes to animals, and they are compatible with IMCN (good for hunting for food)

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11322 An interesting way to manage my inventory, so I can't collect everything I come across (also means I don't disgrace my enemies by stripping them of all their clothes after I kill them)

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=16438 adds pouche I can store things in (Limited Items will soon allow these to increase volume of items I carry)

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1601 I can grow food now (I love Harvest Moon, so when I heard I could farm in Skyrim, I was thrilled)

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11919 A fantastic economy mod that makes makes regional economies!

I'd also love a cooking or alchemy mod but IMCN makes this a bit difficult.
I was thinking about http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11481 but I imagine only the Alchemy part would work in synergy with my setup since there is no compatibility patch for IMCN (and therefore the new food won't be counted as eaten in IMCN). Any suggestions would be welcomed.

EDIT: please be aware that I am not listing all my mods or looking for all the fantastic mods that exist (there are too many!). I am simply looking for mods that fit very nicely with the style of these mods.

Great list! I had most of those on, but I didn't know about Fight or Fly. Exactly what I was looking for!

Thanks for the tip.

Thanks. I looked around at the magic mods and thought it was a good choice that changed magic just enough, without going overboard.

I'm glad I was able to bring it to your attention. Kuertee makes some useful mods :)

Not exactly a cooking overhaul, but these two mods are compatible with IMCN: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=5816 and http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1409.

This is almost exactly the same as the mods I run. All if these are great.
Some other things you may want to add:
Deployable traps (adds even more strategy to fights)
Handyman (because, let's be honest, who doesn't want to whack their enemies with a spade?)
ACE - Athyra's Comprehensive Enhancements (each of these do.a fantastic job of diversifying gameplay, removing exploits, and encouraging specialisation)
Sabre Gear Backpacks and Armed to the Teeth (both of these combined with bandolier make you look like an actual adventurer)

I'm having the same problem with Phitt's Alchemy and Food Overhaul: I want it , or some other appropriate alchemy re balancer :(

@Floor Below: I also use ACE and Deployable traps. With ACE, I use everything except for smithing because I have http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=9959to handle that stuff. As for the backpack and Armed to the Teeth, Frostfall's next update will have the backpack included (with a few cool improvements) and that author is playing with an Armed to the Teeth-like idea too. Handyman is cool (though I don't think a wooden spoon would be as effective as a sword ;D).

tcranter: I downloaded Phitt's and used the AlchemyONLY.esp since IMCN doesn't touch that so it should work fine (the food part definitely conflicts with IMCN though). If I ever find that it does conflict, I'll probably post here again, but I don't think it will happen.
