Is it possible to roll back to previous version?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 12:33 pm

After steam started to download the latest patch(even though I had it set not to and it wouldn't even pause when I tried to stop it...) I am now using the latest version and a bunch of my mods don't work and my current game is broke(thanks steam!).

Is there anyway to roll back to the previous version...?

Then post in the Script Dragon thread in the mods forum, not here. For the record, when I chose to not have Steam keep Skyrim up to date, no updates were loaded until I changed this. It is perfectly possible to delay updating until your favorite mods/plugins/script extenders are updated to support it. There's no justifiable reason to blame steam.

The topic of this post has nothing to do with Script Dragon. I am simply asking if it is possible to roll back to a previous version and when for some reason after specifically changing my settings to keep Skyrim from updating and it gets updated it certainly does have to do with Steam. Not to mention when I tried to pause the downloading it wouldn't respond and kept downloading anyway. Now that I think of it I should have just disconnected from the internet, haha. But anyway, I've been playing Bethesda games long enough to know that you generally want to wait to update until you hear about the results.

On Windows 7 you can right click on the TESV.EXE file, click on "Properties", then go to the "Previous Versions" tab. If there is a previous version listed you can click on that one. I usually make a back up 1st, just to be safe.

Thanks, yeah I tried that and there was nothing there. I should have backed up. Actually now that I think of it I do have an older version in a separate folder, with all the Elder Scrolls games I always back up a fresh install because it's so easy to ruin the game with too many mods. Thanks for the reminder!
