Why Obsidian....?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:19 am

This game is a great game. If you take away all the glitches screen freezing up having to restart console 2 times after 2 hours of play, game lagging horible while you are walking with nothing around you and seeing random npc' stuck in various objects ex. a random citized of the first town stuck in the middle of the table at the bar. I have never seen a xbox game with so many issues. What is going on with obsidian ruining an good game?

Two bugs in two hours isn't bad depending on the severity of the bugs...

radscorpions going into the ground so i cant kill them but they can still hit me and the game freezing after i find the cemetary 3 times is very annoying and bad.
im coming from fallout 3 when there were the same bugs so its pretty annoying.

Another thing that is frustrating it's the graphics, i know fallout 3 it's not the best in grapics but common when you use LT to zoom with your gun the details are horrible, in fallout 3 have better detailed graphics in guns also when shooting fails the target even if you are in close range. so i'm asking myself the same question as the thread why obsidian? you should have sticked with the same developers that made fallout 3

Did you install the game to your HDD?
which highly recommended why you bought the 360 version this cuts down on load time and "lag" I have not once had the game freeze up on me

I can't believe this game was tested at all. Look at the amount of people (including myself) who've encountered game-breaking bugs by simply entering an area (ie: The Strip). It's unforgivable. I was having such a great time playing this game, and now I find out I can't complete it. Not to mention all the minor bugs that I overlooked.

What a waste of time, and ESPECIALLY money.

i was like in 20 minutes of gameplay and my character starts to run in slow motion, a gecko was under a rock and he can still bite me. Is there a way to get a full refund for this game?

I sure as hell hope I can get my money back some how. Considering the ANNOUNCEMENT of the DATE of the "patch" is FORTHCOMING, I'm thinking this game won't be playable until around mid-2011.

i've waited for this game a lot, i pre order it and pay for the game with 3 months of anticipation and they give me this, a game full of disappointment. Bethesda should start thanking Obsidian for making gamers to want a full refund.

By any chance did any of you download the dlc?

In my experience with alot of games the dlc pre order packs break games...now i know the usual gamebyro issues with things falling through the floor and floating objects but for the actual game breaking issues it seems most people have the DLC installed.

I havent installed the dlc (wanted a "real" survival type game) and i have had small typical bugs (floating object and floor clipping) but as of yet about 20 hours in no crashes and no game breaks. my advice is if you have the dlc delete it and start a new game and if you are on the console install to hd. hope this helps you all out there.

Store specific DLC typically ruins games i learned my lesson with mass effect 2 bioshock and dragon age. Im thinking that companies do not test the DLC from chain stores as much as they would with regular dlc.

Now i know the clipping and other minor issues will be brought up but we all know this engine is very very ancient in terms of how long its been used and it had problems since it launched if we thought everything with the engine would be great by now...with it at the end of its life cycle...well we were all lying to ourselves. I think issues like clipping and objects stuck in the ground should be expected with gamebryo lol.

IF your a beta tester maybe!!!!!! Not a $$$ spending consumer that's paying full price for an uncompleted product. I'm pissed too. I have to work all weekend because I took Tuesday and Wednesday off and my game bricked after 10 hours, corrupting my other saves as well and to be honest I'm so disgusted I don't even want to start it over. It's going back to Gamestop. They had til I woke up this morning for a fix before they lost me. Inexcusable. I'm not buying another one of your games until GOTY edition, if this one even makes it that far with all these issues. I understand games have bugs but they shouldn't be game-destroying.

Guys read the other threads....... it has ZERO to do with the DLC.

I have been playing for about 10 hours now, and have encountered the occasional glitches with the characters in rocks/middle of bar/etc. Also one where no matter what weapon I may have armed, or even unarmed, i continually am firing away.

No biggie because I just quit and reload. No game breaking glitch so far.

I too am outraged at this. I called Gamestop and raised a small amount of hell and they agreed to give me a full refund in store credit. I recommend anyone else who feels they have been had by Bethesda/Obsidian do the same thing. RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!!

Count yourself lucky. Most of us got the game save corruption around that time, right near Novac.

Lucky??!?!?!??! Ive got 21 hours of gameplay in it, and i just left the tops casino after playing roulette, and boones [censored] gone, nowhere to be found.. with all my stuff, and not to mention hes just a badass fallower, and hes gone, and i guess from this point on, after having your fallower "poof" the games basically un-playable from what ive read.

With the vast abundance of people experiencing serious issues (stop the whining and moaning about minor graphics stuff, get over it) it's like they didn't even sit down to play their own game.

I don't remember anything this game breaking on the original release of FO3 on the 360. The Pitt was broken to all hell but was fixed like...within one day.

Yep.... seems that the companion (Boone was only one i got) is possibly whats a problem for the save corruption thing.... but then again the game has so many bugs it seems its going to take forever to hash out what the issue is. I also vote for taking games back to Gamestop or wherever. Demand your money back.....then they will pass on the anger to Bethesda/Obsidian if that happens you'll not see midnight releases and exclusive content for gamestop anymore....
