New Player Start Location

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 3:37 am

I want to make my character start at a new location with pipboy/character gen.

I have a bunker set up and have a marker but how do I alter or bypass the default quest/scripts so my character appears in the bunker rather than on the docs bed?

Not sure if this is completely, or in anyway correct, but the quest "VCG01" starts after the opening movie. I didn't look through much of it, but it is attached to "VCG01PlayerStartMarkerREF" which, is obviously in Doc's house. Change the X Target Data Tab to your cell, and that's a start.

Thanks for the advice Mooguy, but the courier still wakes up in the docs house. I am sure their is something I am missing. I tried to alter the quest VCG01 to a new marker but that did not work either, or perhaps I was doing it wrong.

If anyone else has an idea, or perhaps know, please give me some idiot proof instructions. :D

may sound dumb... but maybe delete the current ref/marker. and make a new one, or move it to your area instead. If you have 2 of the same marker i think it would default to the first one.

I just moved the playerstartMarker to the kitchen and started a new game, and whada ya know, I woke up there. Just move it to a new cell and delete some of the character generation steps in the quest, and that should help. Make sure you have a ref for everything though. I'd start off by making a copy of Doc's house, deleting all markers and refs in the originals. Make a new construction in the clone, name it something else and make sure the REFs know that their in THAT CELL. See what happens.

You cant have two markers with the same Ref. It wouldnt let you. He must have moved the original to his new place.
