I apologize if there is already a topic on this, but here's my problem. I told Arcade that we should part ways and he should go to the Lucky 38. Now I want to re-hire him, but my only options are "What's your take on the situation", "Tell me about yourself," and "Goodbye." There is no way to get him to follow me even though I don't have another human follower.

Do you have ED-E following you? Arcade will not join you if ED-E is already following you.

Well then no Arcade for me, as ED-E mysteriously disappeared even though I never told it to wait anywhere and it's still counted as my follower (people talk about it, can't get Rex to follow me)

I seem to remember the very first time I hired him though he said something about the robot and I was able to speech-check him out of it.

You can still hire ED-E w/Arcade, like you discovered. But the wiki lists a bug that says:



Sounds like your problem, and since you can't get rid of ED-E...you're stuck. You could try just going back in a few game days and see if the option mysteriously returns again, I hear that occasionally happens in cases like this.
