For The Republic Part 2 Help

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 7:48 pm

Im stuck on this quest at the part where ive fully helped the current elder and my only option is to still just slaughter the brotherhood, i would really rather not do this, is there any way to make the NCR and brotherhood cooperate?

Thanks in advance

I'm at this part also, but I think I'll just wait to kill them until after I've received power armor training.

Killing them isn't easy they all have the laser rifle that is automatic (LRC?) and they pretty much just stand back and make your screen red with lasers.... You can try to self destruct the power supply, but that is pretty hard because you have to pickpocket people...

Who do you have to pickpocket?

I would like to know this bc I went through and killed them all and still says I haven't done anything. I haven't heard about any pickpocketing the power supply before.

Well there is a Power Supply or something like that, and there is a terminal which allows you to self-destruct it.

You need 3 cards, from the head scribe and paladin, and the elder.

I'm not sure if this will actually help or not, but Colonel Moore said something about it, I wasn't really listening.

I personally want to finish the quest on friendly terms with the Brotherhood, but I can't find a way of doing so.

I heard that you can overthrow the elder and you can make the brotherhood aid you in the battle.

The only way I found to do this (easiest way) is to get a bunch of stealth boys and pickpocket the people for the 3 keycards and then self-destruct the bunker. The ONLY other option is to slaughter everyone and getting their keycards and activating self-destruct sequence.

If you find the first floor (with all the Paladins) difficult, just hack the terminal and turn the turrets Targeting Parameters to Registered BoS Personnel.

I would very much like to know how to get them to join the NCR as well. I've put the new elder in and become a paladin and everything, but no new dialog options or anything.

I'm honestly not continuing my game until I figure this out =(. My char wants to be +Brotherhood +NCR. I did the elder ousting and completed every mission I could find but am only "accepted" with the brotherhood. The only quest that even remotely is connected to brotherhood (the eyebot) I'm working on but I doubt that'd make the difference.

Does anyone know how to ally the NCR and Brotherhood if you've ousted the original elder? Failing that, is there a console command, mod, or save file tweak that can move me to idolized so I can ally the factions?

To overthrow the leader, you have to have helped fix the virus problem and read up on things to tell Harlan, you have to do the quest collecting the 3 reports from the BoS scouts. Do not turn in to the elder instead goto Harlan (iirc that is his name) and use the option given, he will say that is exactly what he needs and to come back to him later.

But if you do hand in to the elder he will know that the NCR is not the problem, but never got a chance to ask him when given the quest to remove them as I stupidly walked into the bunker with NCR gear on >.< and they started to attack. So its possible that talking to Elder then may open up other avenues. Not sure.

For me this is a HUGE issue as well, basically because I do not want to blow up the brotherhood base but I also want to help the NCR. I have heard of people saying you can form a truce between the two factions, but I haven't seen an option yet.

I would find it VERY strange that we aren't given a choice to do this, so it would be great if someone from Bethesda or Obsidian could confirm what exactly our options are for the brotherhood base and the NCR questline.

The only way to have a truce between NCR and the BoS is to keep the old elder in

If the new elder is the elder then your screwed... Which svcks for me

If the elder is McNamara then you can make an alliance if you have done all of the quest for the brotherhood an have high reputation with the if you put the other guy in charge then i think that you have to kill them.

Finally figured it out, keep same elder and do all the quests for them, you wont be able to talk to him anymore, leave the bunker and go back in and talk to him, you should be able to get a treaty between the brotherhood and NCR, you can also get power armor training etc. If he still wont talk to you, go do a side quest or wait for a few days and come back
