ED-E dissappeared

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 11:15 pm

I was in vault 22 and at the end of the quest ED-E completely disappeared after the explosion. I am not playing on hardcoe, and my other companion is still here with me. I tried using the console to reset and everything but no luck, and I still have the perk enhanced sensors.

Any help possible?

I have the exact same problem. ED-E was standing right in front of me in Vault 22
Spoiler
right before I set off the explosion for Keely
. I closed a door and get messages that both Boone and ED-E are unconscious. Emerged after the event was over to find Boone lying on the ground, but ED-E nowhere in sight. Figured it'd poof back to my side after I traveled to another area, but no such luck.

I have since tried summoning ED-E to me using the console, as well as teleporting myself to it. Nothing happens at all. :(

Lots of people are having this problem.

Funny thing is, if you use the console to teleport to ED-E (or anyone that is missing, it's not exclusive to ED-E), or the other way around, nothing happens. It's as if they are nonexistant (minus their perks).

I'm having this exact problem.. same companion, same vault. Do I need to reload before or wait for a patch?

Adding +1 to this issue. I left them both back in the room as I didn't think the fireball would go THAT far... and got the message both were unconscious, and ED-E is forever gone now.

Glad to see I'm not alone.

I lost him a while back, after he got upgraded, i think in one of the vaults. I give up finding him too, he was always getting lost, and for what he brings to the table (nothing, except carrying capacity), he isn't worth the effort.

So, if you lose ED-E...

Spoiler
You can't save / help Rex with his brain troubles..

as ED-E still reports as being a companion. Exciting!

Also, ED-E's sensors are worth a good bit, IMO. Anyone know if there's a way to reset ED-E to non-follow status and then go pick 'em back up? Seems that'd work better than trying to port around.

Same issue. I eventually gave up after exhausting everything I could think of using in the console. I -was- able to open his inventory though, and retrieve all my stuff at least.

Awesome. I'd been trying Kill for some time, but doing so crashed the game, instantly. Disable / Enable worked through, and EDE popped right back into the world.
It's not the best fix, but certainly works. Though my ED-E is PRID 1732cf, which should be the upgraded version, though I'm not sure.

[censored] dude, you are a prince among men. That did it, although it took a little more fidgeting to get him to act like a proper companion and bring up the option wheel instead of acting like an npc that follows me around.

Layman, yes, if you substitute 1732cf it should work, that's the version I have too.

I did that, then had to dismiss everyone, redo that command chain, disable/enable again, and finally he started acting right.
